Whenever I access anything in the pdf format, a message appears--"invalid plugin detected. Adobe will close". The page then closes and I can't read or print anything from it. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks for any help.

that maybe somethng was wrong there. I don't really know if I installed the right program or not. Then I did a system restore back to a date in June when I figured everything was okay. That didn't work either. Do you think I should uninstall and try installing again? If so, what is the current version I need to install? Sorry to be such a pain but when it comes to computers I'm totally at a loss!!!

I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe and it still gives the same message. I'm at my wits end here. I've done a couple of system restores, thinking that might change it back. I know nothing about how to solve this problem and looks like I might have to live with it for a while. But, I really appreciate you taking the time to try and help me. Thanks again.

When you download an updated version of Adobe Reader you don't have to uninstall the old version 1st. The new version will install over the old version & usually too, it replaces/fixes anything that's missing/corrupt from the older version.
My guess is your Flash Player plugin is either missing, is bad or is outdated. At Adobe's site below you can get Adobe Acrobat Reader & Flash Player. They're on the right hand side of the page. Both are free to download (be sure to UNCHECK the box next to the "Free Google Toolbar" if you don't want that). Try downloading just the Reader 1st & if you're still having problems, go back to the site & install the Flash Player. Reboot your computer if necessary.
HTH. :)
