Let me start off first by saying, I had trades in the past that all went well but this one just was kinda bad....its been a month and its still not completed. I wont name this trader as I dont want to hurt their business, but I am really not satisfied at all with this trade.

A month ago i had purchased some items from a trader and when they arrived (less then a week from making the trade)they were not what I was expecting. The items were old looking, dirty, some damaged ect. When i emailed the trader, they were not willing to give even a partial refund but send 33% replacement quantity of the original amount to me. (After my email they even changed their Post to describe the items more ect) I agreed with it and that new replacement deal was made on July 3rd.

I hate to say that people are not telling the truth, but in my gut I just know they arent. When i email them again 10 days later cause I had not received the replacements yet, they said they didnt have my mailing address and they had emailed me at my 2 different emails for it? No, I dont think so, if every email they sent to me got through before how come they didnt get through TWO different emails now. Not likely.

Emailed them again on the 21st, still nothing came in the mail. They said they emailed them last week which would be in a abroad spectrum of the 12th-17th. Im not being picky but if they DO eventually get here, if they were even mailed in the first place, and they are not post marked in that time frame, I will have to report them to garnett. I hate doing that but it is so frustrating to be screwed around like that, makes me not want to trade anymore. :( Am I being too critical? I mean it has been a month.

1|1|I dont think you are being too critical...a month is more than sufficient time to get the sale rectified....you can also leave appropriate feedback if they have a link set up. However, if you do receive the replacement items as agreed, even if late, you would not be able to report to Garnette. Since the 'ballpark' mailing date for the replacements was between the 12-17, if you do not recieve by the end of this week, you would have grounds to report to Garnette. My phone bill check got to the company LATE and they charged me a late fee. So, I called and the guy said that my check took over 14 days to get to them. He then told me that a LOT of people were calling and complaining - but nothing that he could do if the mail was slow. But, then he offerred me unlimited long distance calling for less than I was paying now! Thank goodness that I was fairly "calm" when I talked to him.

So, that may be part of the reason that your trade is so slow in coming.

I sent a very sizable coupon/extras envie to a trader I had traded with before. She said she didn't get it. I had sent it with DC/signature because this was a very large order and she as having me send it to a business address. SHE signed for it. I have a copy of the signature. She denied it.

One of the items was a $5 Target gift card. I always copy the backside so that if there is a conflict and someone claims they didn't get it, I can always check to see if the card was used. Little did I think that this would be proof, cuz anyone could use it right? And it's like cash so no trail. WELL, traders, if you are going to be dishonest enough to lie about signing for a package that contains a gift card, than don't be stupid enough to use it IN CONJUNCTION with your debit card. Why? Well, your debit card has your name. So, when I called Target to get the balance and it was $0 and I asked for a breakdown, I got the breakdown.

So, that was a big burn. Unfortunately, sometimes people lie. It's not always the mail service.

And, in regard to that -- I once had a mortgage with a company for 13 months. And every one of those 13 months, I got hit with a late fee because they said it was taking 10-20 days for my envelope to get to them. So I started sending it with DC and finding out that it was reaching the post office in 2 days, but they were only picking mail up once a week or less. Grrrrr.... It is so easy to blame everyone on the mail. I'm not saying it doesn't earn a lot of them, but it's not the only reason things are late. Sometimes things are late because people are mailing or picking them up late.

I ask that you email the questionable trader at least one time to attempt to resolve the problem before filing a complaint. I will accept a complaint if two weeks has passed since the trade agreement.
If you have pertinant emails relating to the trade you should keep them on your computer
in case they may be needed in the future. Please do not send them to me unless I request
them.I do not try to figure out the information needed by reading your trade negotiations.
When you file a complaint I need the following information;
* Asterisk items REQUIRED INFORMATION
*First and last name of the person who owes you a trade:
User name of person who owes you a trade
*Email address of the person who owes you a trade
Mailing address of the person who owes you a trade:
*Approximate date of the trade: Minimum 2 weeks
*What you sent and what you expected in return:
What board or email list was the trade made?
*Your first and last name and email address:

__WHAT I WILL DO__
I'll email the person and you will receive a copy of the message.
I will record the complaint and their name will go on my one/two complaint
list. When a person receives 3 complaints from 3 sources that name is
transferred to The Trader Alert List and the subscribers are notified.
If we are dealing with one of the more serious offenders I can supply you with additional resources to assist you.

whitmarg -- OMG what a story - I can't believe that someone would just lie like that outright. That just sucks.

I haven't been trading too much (not much good to trade on my end) but I admit to being somewhat hesitant about it after reading all these stories on this board.
