And don't know where to start...but gotta start somewhere.
DH job is way behind on payroll...we can't do this anymore. I'm not sure if he will ever see what they owe us (it's alot!) and if he would go on unemployment not sure how much it would be a week. I've looked at the chart but kinda confusing (wish I was smarter!) and scary to think about. We've been struggling for so long and now it's worse-ugh!
If anyone has any suggestions I'm more than open to them.
Facts- we live in Illinois, I work full time, 1 child

We are together, healthy, and a strong family...but it takes $ to pay the bills. We've cut all we can...it's an income problem.

Soooo many people are in this situation. It's scary to wonder what next, what can you do.
We went through bankruptcy 2 years ago when DH job cut his hours. We had a plan that once we eliminated all the cc's we could pay cash for everything and make our mortgage & budget work. That lasted all of about 3 months until they outright laid him off. So long story short, lost house, 2 cars and was on unemployment for 8 months. We were lucky that he even found a job...on the very day we got eviction notice about the house, he found a job. We had to move 1 1/2 hours away and start over, renting. We sold everything we possibly could over that time. Things are still tight and this place is not where I'd ever thought I'd live but at least we have a job and a place to live, even though its small....so many are not so lucky.
Nothing is a sure thing anymore. We are all feeling our way through this trying time.

He's called a few lawyers today. This has gone on far too long and last night I said "ENOUGH" He's worked there 10 years and is the only employee who isn't somehow related to the family. Most of the family have lost their houses already... but say it's gonna get better...but I've had enough. It's getting very scary. And emotionally not good for either of us...but we've been through worse. 4|1|I would try calling, your states labor board. Many times, they can advocate for the lost wages. Call first in case you have to have an appointment, but do go in. The business may be about to go under, but your DH needs to make sure he files a claim against them before they file bankruptcy or anything like that.

And they contacted them for payment, they would have taken them to court on my behalf for free, but my job ended up mailing them a check and they forwarded it to me, I got it in 2 wks after I filed a complaint. Call them.

The guy called today and basically said he's been too busy to put together an offer but wanted to touch base with DH, should know more in a few days. DH is beginning to bring home a few tools and stuff from his office. After 10 years it's hard on him. It's less money but he will be getting paid every week (unlike current job) and I can budget better.

He's had such a hard road. Put his blood, sweat, and too much time into current job. What a difference a few weeks can make!
DH got his first paycheck from new job on Friday. And for the first time in too long I know that next week he'll get paid again...I can finally budget! Our attorney wrote old job a letter and said what the due wages were and to pay up or we will sue. This week DH called me and told me to go pick up checks at attorney office. Happy Girl! I about fell on the floor when I saw them. Said a quick prayer of thanks. It's not all of it, they need more time so new payoff day set. But it's enough to pay property taxes and a few other bills.

Things are so much better!
DH doesn't love his new job but is hanging in there and grateful for the opportunity (and the paycheck) We have gotten some money from the old job, they still owe us LOTS but are trying to be patient. We finally got our federal tax return and my seasonal job is in full swing. I no longer cry about money and we even order out dinner last week (with coupons of course)
Again a huge thanks to all those who prayed and helped. I made my OP at a dark and scarey point and can't thank you enough for shining some light in my world.
