The transmission in my 97 minivan just went out, and they want over $1000 to fix it....
We were talking about a newer vehicle anyways, but it HAS to seat 6 people (smallest being a big 10yr old)
Any ideas would be great

My teens are 18, 17, 16...then the youngest is 10.
They can "squish" a little, but I really need the better gas mileage that a car would offer.
Our van got 17, but we drive 200+ miles a week as a family, so fuel economy is important....
that and AC. The minivan didn't have rear air and the kids sweat to death in the TX summer.

Honda Odyssey. It was a nice car and milege was pretty good. I remember feeling that there wasn't much space in the back. The cargo area was deep but not very wide. We lost it when hubby lost his job. We couldn't find another one in our price range at the time so we ended up getting an older (2000) Ford Expedition. Even tho its older we haven't had any problems. Milage isn't too good but we don't have to drive as far as you. Has lots of space. We can fit 8 plus have some cargo space behind third row.
We have a family of five and it comes in handy when the kids bring friends along. There's room for the kids and their sleeping bags, scooters and junk.
If I had it to do again, I would still pick the Ford.

It has third row seating ... seats 7.
Second and third row seats fold down if it's just two of you and you need storage.
Third row folds down and you can still seat four.

I'm talking maybe 5 or 6 also my daughters and sisters so I never buy fords,Linda 8|1|A Nissan Quest seats 7.... driver, front passenger, then bucket seats in second row, then third row seats 3 for total of 7. BTW, our 05' Quest was totaled in Nov 09 and we bought an 08' as soon as the insurance was straighened out. 5 star safety is worth it! The car did it's job.
