I have some items with tags that I got as gifts-don't have receipts but wondered if stores will take them back? Do they give you credit and how old can the items be?Debating if I should return these items to the store or bring to a consignment store

say the tag says $20 but its been on sale for $10 that's what you get, wal mart is the same way it will scan the tag and give the lowest price, I think our walmart also has to have your drivers licence # plus they will only give gift card too, also I tried to take back something from Fashion Bug without receipt and I had paid $9.99 they were only going to give me like $2.50 which was what it would sale for at the end of summer clearance sale 2 months away i haven't bought anything there since.hth Linda
