hi all, i posted on the refunding forum but think this is a more appropriate forum ... my cousin in illinois has had a horrible tragedy in her family. they lost their 3 year old son in a backyard pool drowning on monday.

wilson, the husband & dad, was outside with the four boys (they have 4 children - all boys ... chris 13 - nick 10 - jon 3 - and brendan 1). they were riding their 4-wheelers. they went inside and either they didn't notice that jon slipped back out or he never even went inside ... unsure. but he did get the fence open in the back yard and ended up climbing the steps to the pool (the last person out of the pool was suppose to move the ladder so the little ones couldn't get to the pool but that one time someone forgot) and he fell in. his older brother, nick, found him and pulled him out. he was unresponsive when they pulled him out but they got some water out of his lungs and started cpr. they never got a pulse on the way to the hospital. once he got to the hospital, though, they were able to get him stabilized enough to be transported from paducah, ky (that's about 30 miles from where they live in ill) to louisville. about 3 minutes after the helicopter took off his 02 level dropped to 60% and the helicopter turned around to head back to paducah. by the time they landed his 02 was down to 40%. they were never able to get him stabilized again and he died about an hour later.

this is just tearing the family apart. nick has hardly spoken in 2 days - every time he does he breaks down and sobs. it's hard on the oldest brother, chris, too but nick is the one who pulled him from the pool ... please pray for healing for this family. for strength and comfort too!

if the situation could get any worse ... the family didn't have insurance (private or state) so the expenses will have to be handled by the family. a memorial fund has been set up at a local bank:

city national bank
jonathan (jon-jon) watson
423 ferry st
metropolis, il 62960
(618)524-2162

this family could certainly use encouraging cards, too. they are not staying at their house out in grantsburg they are staying in town at my aunts house.

the watson family
c/o faye rae
203 dorris dr
metropolis, il 62960

funny name for my aunt, isn't it?! faye rae ... she's not the black & white movie star of a great ape movie, though.

thanks for all the prayers and all the emails we've gotten already ~ sandy

that's a great idea about moving the ladder. we just got one of those pools that you blow the top ring up and i have a 5 year old who doesn't know how to swim yet so i'm always worried about where he is. I will definitely keep them in my thoughts. 7|1|I'm so sorry to hear this....|kellysp6637|frugalk76@aol.com|08:34:49|06/19/2010|

as Shelley said earlier,,,,sadly this happens way too much when the warmer seasons approaches.

I will keep them in my prayers, this is simply heartbreaking. 8|2|Thanks to all ...|flyvanguard|flyvanguard@yahoo.com|11:58:08|06/21/2010|

just got home last night ~ thanks to all for cards & prayers. WOW ... what a sad day friday was. my cousin and her husband are doing better, i think, but it's pretty touchy - one minute they are okay and the next they are not. the 2 older boys seem to be keeping busy - all their friends moms have stepped in and have things planned for them to do to keep their mind busy and the littlest guy (10 months) doesn't seem too affected by all the emotions around him.

thanks again to all ~ sandy
