I've been thinking of getting one... I live in an old mining town and there are quite a few "professional" yardsalers here and they always have those! Heres a link to one site I've checked out.

Apparently you can "declaw" the cue cat and install a program that links to a database that gives you a price range for books, cds, dvds, etc. I don't know any of the details on how its done, but I know of someone that used one of these to scan donated books so he could weed out anything of value to sell on ebay, before offering them in a Church sale.

Debbie 8|2|Ah, this is making some sense now.....or to compare stockpile items to retail to see if it is a good deal maybe? |saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:36:16|06/07/2010|

I attend a huge book sale every year. I buy tons of stuff to sell on ebay. People have them there. I have asked and this was the explanition: You down load a compture program. Then scan the bar codes and see what they are selling for online (ebay, amazon, etc.) Then the people decide if they want to buy based on selling price and resale price. It is supposedt to help you get only things that will resell. Hope this helps. 10|2|Very interesting... I asked what they were doing and they said|sxm0089|fireft@sbcglobal.net|08:48:59|06/08/2010|

they resell and the scanner tells them selling value...they really did not disclose more than that but I thought I was rather odd. Maybe I need to get one for going to garage sales. Does anyone know if you have to pay a monthy fee or something? How expensive are these things? I dont get how it transfers the current info. Modern technology is going way to fast for me. 11|3|Isha posted above a link with info on the scanners|bluh2oeyes|bluh2oeyes@yahoo.com|08:50:48|06/08/2010|
