What does everyone do to keep rabbits and squirrels from eating the vegetable plants. I'm looking forward to having a home grown salad this summer and I don't know if that is going to take place. Hope to hear some good ideas. 1|1|rabbits you can keep out with a chicken wire fence, but the squirrels will climb that....I have read that if you put dog hair around the perimeter every few feet that the critters smell the dog and stay away. So, when you brush your dog, save the hair that gets stuck in the brush and use it (or get some from a friend or family member)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:23:27|06/05/2010|

You should beable to go to a local feed store in your area whether its a tractor supply or co op or a nursery and they will sell an organic spray that you can spray around your garden and on your plants to keep the critters from eating your garden and this works because i have done this before and if you dont either do the fence or spray you will not have anything in your garden..everything in my garden was eaten last year when i was gone on vacation so this summeri put a chicken wire fence around the garden and now its beautiful

good luck

I have never had squirrels interested in my gardens. But for the past 5 years I plant marigolds around my garden and the rabbits stay away. They actually walk up to the garden, stretch up and look in but never actually go in. It's been great. I love having the rabbits in my yard because I like to watch them chase each other. LOL

Thanks!

for rabbits and other small animals make a fence with it down low for deer make it higher I put old Cd's every once in a while so I don't trip over it it could tie strips of cloth, they hit the fishing line and it scares them away, I've done this for a couple of years and it really helped, Linda
