As of today I am in my second trimester! Yay!

And Jeromy was offered a better job today! He was unhappy at the one he started a few weeks ago and was wanting to change. He kept thinking he had plenty of time to switch jobs... Monday I pointed out that we could have a baby in 5 months and if he waited he wouldn't have health insurance before the baby comes. Right now that baby and I are covered, but we want to get married right after the baby comes. I told him if he had to wait a 90 day probation period, 5 months was not much time a all... Well less then an hour after we talked he got a call back from some place he interviewed at a couple of weeks ago. He had applied for this job over a month ago. Well he met with them today and they offered him a job. He started at $25 an hour. Right now he is only making $21, he is use to making $28+. He will be doing more wha he wanted to be doing and will also work hours that will make it so he can go to doctors appointments with me. Oh, and the insurance is beter then he job he is at now... Yay!

3|3|will insurance cover you if you're not married?|KellyJef|burke3536@yahoo.com|08:14:54|05/28/2010|

I can see where the baby might be covered AFTER it's born, but companies don't normally cover a pre-existing pregnancy.

I worked in Human Resources for over 35 years and we would cover the children of unmarried employees but not the girlfriends. Pregnancy expenses of unmarried employees were definitely not covered. 4|4|Kelly I didn't even think of that silly me as my son and his wife waited till they were married before she went to the dr |teener|teenerzacsneenee@yahoo.com|08:17:40|05/28/2010|

It has something to do with covering same sex couples. If they do it for them then they do it for every couple.

It sounds like she and the baby are covered under insurance now so a pre-existing condition wouldn't matter. A pre-existing condition only matters if you have no insurance and then get insurance. At least that is how it is in New York State.

It also sounds like they won't need to use his insurance until after the baby is born and after they get married. So it should all be fine.

Thanks!

Vicki, NY 9|2|Vicki got it! LoL I was covered before I found out I was pregnant. Knowing what I went through to find the right high risk doctor makes it so I wouldn't even consider switching insurance if I could. My high rick doctors do not take the new insurance and i dont have the time it took, 2 months, to find a good doctor for me again. Besides i am at the top place in Oregon right now and don' want to be anywhere else :-)|RobinsCrazyWorld|robinmarie72@gmail.com|12:49:22|05/28/2010|

8|1|I guess i was not clear in what I posted... WHen I said right now the baby and i are covered, I was talking about under MY insurance. We are not making any changes until the baby comes. That is why he had only a few months to get things in line insurance wise. |RobinsCrazyWorld|robinmarie72@gmail.com|12:45:58|05/28/2010|
