I would like to switch from a regular cell phone from Verizon that's under contract to a prepaid cell phone like you get at Walmart and other stores.

What prepaid cell phone gives the best coverage area?

Has anyone had problems with coverage or complaints of any kind with the prepaid cell phones?

Thanks in advance for your help 1|1|There are lots of different programs out there...|thedancerz|soarinfan12@gmail.com|20:12:21|05/19/2010|

Some of them include Tracfone, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile. The coverage really depends on the area you live in. You might be able to find more info by googling.

Also AT+T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile all offer pre-paid plans. They will probably give the same coverage as the other plans since they are the same carrier. HTH!

Thanks! 2|1|I have t-mobile, and love it. After your first 100.00 tou are a gold member, and your refills do not expire for a year, and your minutes carry over. I used to pay 35 a month for a contracted line. Now I spend about 25.00 every three months. I just do not use my phone much, so it is a better option for me. |dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|20:21:48|05/19/2010|

Depending on the phone you currently have with Verizon, you might be able to use it with PagePlus.|jen_ron|bugsmamma@earthlink.net|21:18:50|05/19/2010|

I know of two that arent allowed with PagePlus that are Verizon phones, one is the Samsung Smooth, but thats a prepaid phone, the other is any blackberry. If you do decide to cancel your Verizon service and want to keep your same phone (as long as its not one of the two I mentioned) you can take it to a PagePlus dealer, or call their 800#, and have it activated thru them. They have several diffrent plans. I use the Unlimited Talk & Text, its $44.95 a month and you can call anybody any time as much as you want, and you can text as much as you want plus they include 20MBs of data for picture messaging and the internet if the phone is capable. My daughter is on their Talk & Text 1200, basically you get 1200 cell phone minutes and 1200 text messages for $29.95 a month. She hasnt gone over yet. Best thing, its total prepraid, no credit check and no contract so if you decide you dont like the service you just dont pay for your next months service. Oh, and they also use the Verizon/Alltel (wherever they bought Alltel out) towers so they have great service too but without the hassel of dealing with Verizon. Ok, Im done! lol
