7 0|0|What do you know about a doctor that is a DO not an MD?|vickijo|vjdesmond@rochester.rr.com|16:31:33|05/18/2010|

Osteopathic Medicine is the name for it. I have to change doctors and a friend highly recommended this doctor.

Has anyone had any experiences with a DO?

Thanks!

Vicki, NY 1|1|I have worked with several DO's....they are very knowledgeable and I would not hesitate to consider a DO as my primary care provider....but as with all doctors that you are considering, you can and should do some research on the before making a final decision. :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:36:39|05/18/2010|

It was our first experience with a DO and it was the worst. Everytime we went to him for something, he would try to blow us off as it's all in your mind, yadda yadda yadda, well my husband kept complaining about his testicle, it was swelling up and hurting and he said oh that's normal. Well it wasn't and if he would've sent him for tests, they would've caught the cancer before it spread to his lungs, lymph nodes in his back, adrenal gland and aorta. My husband's oncologist told us, if the DO would've sent him in for testing right away, it would've been caught in time before it spread, not trying to sound bitter, but we lost our home, our vehicle and struggled for a long long time. My husband is only 40 and is on disability and it's been hard the past 3 years. I'm not blaming him for the cancer, but feel he could've did something to prevent it from spreading. I'm not saying all DO's are bad, I mean there are bad drs. too, but we've encounter a couple other DO's and didn't care for them either. (((HUGS))))

I really thought both of them were very good and I would go back to either one of them in a New York minute. I felt I was NOT hurried at my appts. They both seemed very caring and ran some tests and I must say I was very pleased . They also explained my problem to me very well and what they would do about it ! I give them a big thumbs up ! hope this helps ! Diane 5|1|My hubby & I go to a MD who is also a DO...|Sharon|corvettelady@lavabit.com|00:44:51|05/19/2010|

We are very pleased with him as he takes his time, is very thorough and have gotten positive results. He also specializes in anti-aging (natural bio-identical hormone treatments) which has helped me tremendously. 6|2|I love my DO|pattyo|pattyolc@aol.com|06:22:04|05/19/2010|
