i was induced for all 3 of kids but my last one in 2005 was a emergency c-section i have type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and a defected heart valve..they kept me the usual 2 days so i think if all is well in 2 days u will be home i dont suggest rooming in with the baby i suggest u get all the rest u can because u will need if the dh has to work u will have to get up more at night to care for the baby the forst 2 and half months were always the worst for me after that mine started sleeping thur the night and things settled a bit

I had the first C-Section when I was 19, it wasn't planned, the reason I had it was because I didn't dialate and my first son was 10lbs and 25 /12 inches long. He was huge. LOL. I was in the hospital about a week. With Matthew (I was 32) and we were trying to do a vaginal birth, but that didn't work, so a few days past my due date, they gave me a C-section on the 27th and I was home the 31st, then with Cheyenne (I was 39) it was planned and I was in there on Thursday morning and they gave me a choice to go home on Sat or Mon. I chose Monday cause at the time we were moving into a new place, and I wanted to make sure the guys had everything in and settled before the baby and I came home :) Sorry wish I was more of a help. Hugs, Rebekka

:) 7|1|Rebekka makes a good poiint. I was offered the option to go home after two days. But my husbands aunt, and RN, who had 3 c-sections, suggested I stay in the hospital as long as i can, and get help from the nurse, with feeding ETC. For me it was the best advice., I had gotten. |dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|17:57:29|05/16/2010|

I ended up with complications tho, had post-natal pre-eclampsia and had to stay in the hospital for a week and then had to keep goin back when my bp would spike. Took like 3 weeks for them to get it straightened out. I was told then that normal is like 3 or 4 days, to give the wound time to heal enough you wont reopen after you go home. Guess Im not normal. lol

on a Friday morning at 6 am, by late that evening I had only at 8 centimeters so the doctor did a c-section and Sabrina was born at 10:58 pm that night and I didn't go home until the following Monday morning. I was the only one who was there from Friday until late Sunday night so the nurses had very little to do with Sabrina being the only baby. They held her and played with her more than I did, lol. It probably will depend on your doctor and how things turn out with you. 10|1|There was no nursery (except for the really sick babies) when I had Cheyenne, so you kept the baby in the room with you 24/7. I told the nurse, okay how am I suppose to get up and tend to her when I just had surgery and it hurts to do anything??? Luckily I had a huge room with two couches and things,so at least Will and Matthew stayed thereat night to help me while Timothy was at our new place unpacking~*~|RebekkaVA|queen_vulture@msn.com|18:20:14|05/16/2010|

11|1|Believe you meI will be stayingin as long as they offer. AFter 8 operations so far and the last 2 having me opened from right under where the rib cage meets in the midle all the way down to my pelvic bone I know I will need extra time to bounce back. Each operation seems to get more and more intense when it comes to recovery. Besides if I develop another blood clot I want it to start while i am there, not right after I get home like the last 2 operations. |RobinsCrazyWorld|robinmarie72@gmail.com|19:52:00|05/16/2010|

Two planned, two not.
By the 4th one I had some trouble bouncing back and since you have also had abdominal surgery before let me give you some good advice.

You want a BOPPY pillow. Go look that up. It is like a U shaped pillow that goes around you so you can hold baby easier. It was my favorite thing! It really really helped.

Also be ready for Jeremy to stay home for at least a week if he can, two is he can swing that. It may be hard for you to move and pick up baby especially in those few days after coming home. It is different being in a hospital bed that you can move and adjust to your own regular bed and it will probably take you a little more time to bounce back. Extra rest and some extra kind daddy hands are going to make a huge difference to you. Plus it will be such a sweet time for all 3 of you. You will look back on it for the rest of your life and I can tell you that even though it hurt, I look back and just remember the sweetness of it. Your whole relationship will get deeper.

Boppy, boppy, boppy! :0)

my best advice to you, is to move, move, move as soon as you can. If you baby yourself you start to stiffen up,( I am thinking you already know this from your other surgeries,) get up as soon as you can and start walking the hallways. I had rooming in with all my babies, just the way I am, no way was I going to let my new baby spend the night away from me.

15|2|I agree! Get up to the bathroom (have them take the foley catheter out the next morning), walk, sit in a chair to eat your meals and not sit up in bed....I was moving around like nothing at all the evening I went home and I attribute it to not being able to sit still in the bed while I was there, lol|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|21:13:07|05/16/2010|

Were I was at we did 3 days for a C/S, 4th day if the baby was jaundice or something else was going on medically.

out of bed to the bedside that evening, the next morning, catheter out, showered, and encouraged to walk the halls a few times throughout the day.If you lay in bed the gas builds up and the pain can be unbelievable. get up and move as much as you can. use a rolledup towel for belly support when you get in and out of bed, helps the incision pain and gives support.

Best Wishes !! 18|2|4 days and was induced 7 times, geesh!|QponFreebieQueen|QponFreebieQueen@gmail.com|00:26:04|05/17/2010|

i had 50 staples cause they had to cut through so much me being big. ( my stomach looks like an a$$ now.....cut from belly button to whoha) they took out the staples less then a week later, way too soon in my case. i sat down to pee the next day and my gut ripped wide open, husband (ex now) had to rush me to the ER. they WOULD NOT close it back up, said it had to heal from the inside out. for weeks i had to pack it with saline and gauze. my gut was open for almost 4 months. i was so paranoid i use medical tape to keep it closed.....lots of it cause i disnt want it open. when they would check it they would peel it off and yell at me cause it was taking my skin with it.

i was a high risk though and my son was 2 weeks late. i would do it all over again, cause i love my son, but is was very tramatic for me. 5 years ago i had to have repair surgery to fix the mess that was left and have an implant installed for a hernia at my belly button.
