11 0|0|Daughter's problem filling...Help!|hudge4|hudge95@yahoo.com|01:21:15|05/11/2010|

My 13 year old had a cavity filled 2 weeks ago and it's been hurting. It is in a molar, filled with composite. We went back in last week and Dr said the bite was "off" and it was a little rough. They ground it down and said that should be fine, but it still hurts. She cannot chew on that side without alot of pain.

We have an appointment tomarrow and was wondering if anybody here has any advice for us about what it can be? I am afraid they are gonna send us home again or worse, re-do it and have it still be a problem. There was no pain whatsoever in this tooth until they filled it. No, I do not believe it is simply sensitivity since she cannot bite on it even gently.

We are very nervous (we've been reading online-not always a good thing). Maybe I should go to another Dr and not let them touch her again? This dentisit has been referred by a long time patient and has been in business 22+ years.

What do you think??????

It shouldn't still hurt to chew on unless there's a problem with the filling. Is it the filling part that hurts? Can you probe it? Does it hurt with cold or hot? |Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|11:45:00|05/11/2010|

Still don't know why it hurts. They want to take the filling out, check for cracks in the tooth, put something in to calm the area down, then refill in a month or two. We have to wait 2 weeks! She can't do it any sooner. Ugh! Then if all that doesn;t work, they want to put a crown on it.

Looks like we won't see the end of this for a while. What a pain!

http://www.refundsweepers.com/dcforum/feedback/1021.html 4|1|Hmm.... any chance it abscessed? Did she re-Xray it? I would think she could squeeze you in before then... I mean come on! You don't want kids to fear the dentist... I had a root canal tooth that still hurt afterward It took a few months to calm down. It is probably a fracture they can't see on xrays they said. I didn't go back (they wanted to pull it). I still have it and it doesn't bother me only a few times a year.|Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|18:07:49|05/11/2010|

It was cracked in 2 places... I hope they get it fixed..because i know how bad mine hurt. 6|1|Mouth pain is horrible to live with (believe you me, I know! Just spent over $6,000 to get my mouth fixed!) I would find someone else to get her in sooner then the 2 weeks you have to wait for the one you have been dealing with. At least to get a second opinion if anything.|RobinsCrazyWorld|robinmarie72@gmail.com|19:34:42|05/11/2010|

should,t be in that much pain i had a couple teeth pulled a week ago and got a infection my dentist gave me antibiotics i would wait a day oe two and then demand to see dentist if she is still in pain. best to her 9|1|Just a quick q: Did it hurt immediately after it woke up (novocaine wore off?) That would indicate the dentist got near a nerve. I am just trying to think here. I know I had a root canal on a molar once that had a bonus canal that didn't show on an xray. The dentist found it after he started. Is it possible she has an extra canal? My aunt had like 5 on one tooth once. When I had that tooth that didn't settle down, they sent me to an Endodontist. You might try that. Good luck!|Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|22:16:23|05/11/2010|

10|2|Yes it hurt to chew on it right away. The Dr kept saying the 'bite' is off but she kept grounding it down, but still painful to pressure (even in the office). Finally the Doc suggested taking the fill out and redoing. I will ask again about nerves. |hudge4|hudge95@yahoo.com|10:58:04|05/12/2010|

http://www.refundsweepers.com/dcforum/feedback/1021.html 11|2|Yeah, its not constant pain (if she's not eating!) thats probably why they are stringing it out so long. She can still chew on her other side. But hit that tooth and YOUCH! Is it unreasonable to ask them to move it up?|hudge4|hudge95@yahoo.com|11:00:48|05/12/2010|
