2|2|I looked at the link, but it brings up Personalized Medical Identification card |tonyas30|tonyas30@hotmail.com|15:51:47|04/26/2010|

it shows a bracelet in the pic but it looks like its one of those cards to carry with you.

3|3|well, poo....that's misleading! Do a search on Amazon for "medical alert bracelets" to see their selection.....there are others that you can get engraved with up to so many lines and so many characters per line, you would still only need one bracelet :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|15:59:26|04/26/2010|

"Our bracelets have three lines available for engraving with about 20 spaces per line. Please consider these constraints when giving us your customization information."

You could put each alert condition on each line...

There are tons of results...many choices of styles and custom wording

here's one site I found had many choices
http://www.stickyj.com/medical-emergency.html

Some really cute choices here
http://www.laurenshope.com/

Here is another with some different choices
http://www.medicalidbraceletonline.com/

This is something my father needs too but getting him to wear it is a whole nother issue. So one that fit on his watch strap would be the best option for him (which I just saw)...if we could twist his arm into getting one that's the next step.

Good luck...

Sorry to take over your post, but I need to ask a question. My daughter is allergic to pencillin do you think I should get her one. She is 11 years old and also is it safe to put her name on a necklace or braclet? 12|3|Yes, it's something she should be wearing ALL the time. |maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|08:05:25|04/27/2010|

In a medical emergency, she may not think to mention her pencillin allergy or may not be able to tell medical personnel that she has one, & it could prove to be crucial, depending on the severity of her allergic reaction to it. I don't think you need to put her name on it tho.

My bracelet doesn't have my name on it, but I need to get an updated new one as I've since also developed an allergy to the tetracycline/doxicycline family, in addition to the pencillin family. They main thing is that medical personnel are aware asap if someone has an allergy or any type of negative reaction to any meds, latex, anesthesia, etc.

13|4|My recommendation regarding medication allergies is to ALSO list the type of reaction (rash, anaphylactic, etc).....in a life or death situation, it is worth a rash reaction to give the med, and the TYPE of reaction is just as important knowing the med someone is allergic to. Also, PLEASE clarify with your MD if the type of reacion you have is an allergy or a SENSITIVITY....for example, some people claim to have an allergy to a certain antibiotic because it makes them nauseous....that is not an allergy, that is a sensitivity and a common side effect of the med. |saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|08:12:09|04/27/2010|
