My dear friend has lost 90% of her hearing and the doc thinks hearing aids will greatly improve her ability to hear. She is unable to make the monthly payments and doesn't have the finances available to pay for them. She is not low income (has major debt to overcome) and curious if there is some type of help available. If anyone has information it will be greatly appreciated. For example: Starkey or Micro-Tech. Your friend also needs to explain her financial situation to the audiologist & he should know of any programs thru those companies that help people w/financial dilemmas obtain hearing aids. I'm not sure about Micro-Tech but I know Starkey has a program called the Starkey Foundation to assist hearing impaired people obtain hearing aids at low/no cost.
