Although I'm grateful he has insurance, but it doesn't cover alot of things and we just found out that he has to pay 25% of the sleep study bill. And now he's having a second one done, so that is really gonna add up the med bills. Does it ever end? Sorry not trying to complain for be ungrateful, but I sure miss it when he was working and our insurance covered so much more than the one he has now with Medicare :( I can't imagine what the elderly go through, I know my mom has 3 different insurances cause she said medicare doesn't pay well at all. We have that and another insurance added on for Will, but it still doesn't pay good on alot of things. Oh well guess I'll just be in debt forever :(

and I thought it was my doctor and went over there with out a referral thinking that my doctor had taken care of it.

the tech just happened to be talking with me (her son is autistic too and we talk alot when I go there) and when I asked her about all the forms I had to sign again, especiallly the insurance (I am so poor that the form always bugs me, LOL) she could not answer me and went to find out but could find no referral or prior approval in my chart and she couldn't tell me for sure that it was covered.

I spent three hours calling my doctor, the sleep med office, medicaid etc, but of course I could not get a definitive answer that late at night.

I went home (it was after 11pm by that time and I was yawning my head off lol for the first time I was sleepy rofl)

and the next day my doctor called me and said they knew nothing about this, the doctor on that end should have gotten prior approval with medicaid and did not but one of the forms they wanted me to sign was that I would be responsible if my insurance did not cover the cost (up to $1700)

I thank good ness the tech was honest with me when I asked her why I had to sign that form on a follow-up visit???!!!!

Can you say 'trying to drum up business much'?????? this is just short of criminal in my opinion, all they had to do was get prior approval if they didn't have a referral... I wonder are they stupid or did they do this on purpose, (notice what they said to me so I could assume it was my doctor) and they just didn't care that I could never in a million years have paid for this?????

I am always amazed at how careful you have to be, even on a followup visit... to the same place.... 2|2|I know girlie, it's like they do things on purpose, so that they can get extra dollars...Will said the first study, he was almost asleep and the guy kept coming in bugging him about every 15 minutes for over an hour. I told him that he needs to tell them they should be responsible for the second one, since THEY are the ones that messed up the first one :(|RebekkaVA|queen_vulture@msn.com|17:43:59|04/21/2010|

3|3|Um, they DO do it on purpose......the more they can get you in there, the more they can bill.....not sure why they'd be so eager to bill a second time to Medicaid, as they are about 8 months behind on paying the providers, but they must have the time to spare to wait for the money....I hate how you go to the doc for something simple like a UTI, have the urinalysis done to confirm, get the antibiotic....then the doc wants you to see him again after treatment (even if all is fine, your symptoms go away)...that's to bill for that extra office visit, sheesh.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:59:03|04/21/2010|
