My step sister (whom I really never talk too) got a dog a few month back, but she made a big production of getting it and it had to be a little dog, blah blah anyway I was just looking on FB (that is really the only way we keep in contact) and the last week she posted that she wanted to get rid of the little guy and was looking for any takers, then apparently she could not find a new home and today post a complaint about how the puppy chewed through another collar. I get it I am a dog person, have always had dog(s) they are a lot of work, but you should know that when you get a puppy!!!! Sorry I just venting my frustration, it irritates me when it gets tough to take care of the dog SHE HAD to have, she wants to get rid of it!!!!

Have a good one :)

It upsets me also I am big dog lover myself, and they are like taking care of a child especially in the puppy stage when someone needs to train them and be home with them, they are a big responsibility.

or she might have a change of heart and keep him who knows, I just don't talk with her to know and at this point I wouldn't have anything nice to say so probably better we don't talk (my mom would be proud I listening to the lecture"if you don't have anything nice to say...")

Have a good one :)

I'm a big animal lover in general but have always been partial to dogs. I'm in it for the long haul & yes, they're a responsibility & just like kids, they require patience, time & lots of love. We need to gently teach our pets appropriate/acceptable behavior & limits just as we do our children. Some people see kittens & puppies as just "oh, so cute" & "I just have to have one", but then reality sets in when they realize the cute little things actually require WORK to train, feed, exercise, check-ups, etc. & require our time & attention. If we don't take the time to teach & train them, how are they supposed to know what's appropropriate behavior & what's expected of them?!
It drives me nuts when people get/have pets but don't want the responsibility of properly taking care of them. :(

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box. ~Robert Fulghum
