It will be six weeks since his stroke when he comes home next Wednesday. They said that he has made tremendous progress. He has regained the use of his left leg and is slowly buiding up the strength in it again. He can now walk 80 feet or more with the use of a side walker thing. He still has not regained any use of his left arm, but there is still hope that will come back with time. He is so excited thinking of coming back home. He will be going to outpatient rehab at the same hospital three times a week, but that will still be better than driving to the hospital 7 times a week to see him. We are still waiting to see if we qualify for medicaid, but the hospital said they wil provide the outpatient rehab for no charge. That was a real blessing. I can not thank you enough for all the prayers that you said for my husband. I know that they are what made the difference. I"m so glad he's coming home!! I know how happy all of you are!! 9|1|That's wonderful! Prayers for his continued success for all his hard work! Is your husband receiving MedA benefits right now? If he is, then the outpatient therapy will be covered under Part B for as long as he makes progress, based on number of service days....ask the therapist how many service days he has, you might be surprised how long he'll be able to attend therapy to continue his progress! :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:12:34|04/15/2010|

Won't it be nice to have him home again! Hope he continues to improve every day! 12|1|We found a wheelchair for him for $25|tgriesse|teresagriesse@yahoo.com|19:50:45|04/15/2010|

The hospital wanted to order a wheelchair for my husband to take home with him. They said Medicaid might pay for it, if we even get the Medicaid. I asked around town and several places loan them out, but they were all too small. Tonight my Mom called and said that she felt compelled to stop at a yard sale at a church today. First thing she saw was a wonderful wheelchair that even had the name of the same hospital on it and it was only $25. I can afford that. She measured it and said that it should be the right width. God is watching out for us. Thank you so much for all you prayers and well wishes. They made a huge difference. teresa
