And I know how things work...
BUT OMG I don't think I am going to watch discovery health channel again until AFTER this baby is 18 years old!!

The week before we found out about the peanut Jeromy mentioned that people are sometimes born with tails... I have heard things like this in the past, but never thought anything about it... Cut to a week later when I knew i was pregnant.... I was suddenly worried that the baby would be born with a tail! Looking at the stack of books I just picked up and seeing all these images of what the baby looks like now did not help! LoL I told Jeromy last week that if it is born with a tail, i want to leave it on it if wags when the baby is happy. Thought this would help when it was a bit older and we are trying to understand him/her... lol Jeromy went on t point out HOW that kid may be teased,,, Nawwww.... lol

Then after I didn't go to the bathroom for a couple of days I had a 5 second freak out that maybe the baby was eating poop since I had not been able to eat much in a few days.... I know, I know,,, That's not how it works!!

THEN today I watched something on Discover Health about extreme birth defects this morning! This was watching something on DH on Demand last night.... Soooooooooo not a good thing for me to do!!

2|1|My doctors were ON TLC at the time I pregnant. In fact it was so slow, in Yale New Haven hospital at the time I delivered, they kept asking me if I wanted to be on the show. No way not this Momma LOL!!! I had gestational diabitis and had to have a c-section, I didn't think it was that exciting. But they sure did.|dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|22:20:31|04/11/2010|

It might be best to avoid watching shows, reading books or hear pg stories that will make you nervous or worry you needlessly. Your emotions & hormones are flip-floppy & more intense anyway during pregnancy so things that normally wouldn't bother you too much while not pg may likely bother you alot more while you are pg. Just like some foods you liked/didn't like while not pg suddenly become foods you don't like/like. ;)
I remember reading a non-fiction novel while pg w/my son. I wish I could remember now what it was called, but it was a thick hard-cover. It wasn't any kind of medical documentary but was about a woman who murdered her baby, similar to Small Sacrifices. I upset me alot & wore on me for days. Normally, I can read just about any kind of book & altho I might cry & get a knot in my stomach for a day or so, I'm able to eventually put it out of my mind & move on to the next novel.
And my son's dad's sil told me while I was pg how she was in labor for 20 hrs. w/my son's cousin & that he was such a large baby her tailbone cracked during delivery. I really didn't need to hear that as it just added more worry to an already worried expectant mom, kwim? Fortunately, my pregnancy & my son's birth was pretty much a breeze, except I ended up having a c-section. I honestly don't remember any of the labor pains, etc. even tho I definitely was in labor for 4 & 1/2 hrs., & was awake during the c-section (I had a spinal shot to numb me from the waist down. I don't remember any pain w/the shot either.). :)
I do remember tho how weird it was when my water broke, stuffing towels in my jogging pants to try to absorb the amniotic water that just didn't seem to stop & feeling kind of embarrassed when the nurses had to help take out all those towels when I got to the hospital. LOL They said I certainly wasn't the 1st mom in labor who packed her pants w/towels. LOLOL
And here's an FYI hint: None of my pre-pregnancy underwear fit after I had my son. ROFL!!

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box. ~Robert Fulghum

I had gestational diabetes and was informed as I went along Women have been birthing babies for years there are good things and bad but the good out number the bad dwell on the good The one thing I did have to go through tho was the old wives tales that my MIL would ask me to ask my dr he got a kick out of them and would ask each visit if there was a new one lol and in case you are wondering no if one twin becomes a parent that means the other is sterile lol lol lol
I hope for your sake your Dr has a human side and you can connect with him or her Mine at the birth of my youngest( Dr for 3 0f the 4)laid in my bed ( while I was in labor and sitting in a chair)with his shoes off showing off his tocan bird socks and we watched his sons school play on the local cable channel lol lol 6|2|LOL at your FYI...|sunriver|lithiasalt@cheerful.com|12:47:01|04/12/2010|

Nobody ever shared that little tidbit with me either (underwear) and with our last daughter I had this insensitive jerk of a doctor who actually said some rude things to me when I was at an appointment about a week post-op. I just wore the maternity kind because I certainly couldn't have been comfortable in anything else considering the surgery (and since G was my 4th c-section I was also just covered in black and blue bruises, so thinking back I really don't see why the Dr was such an meanie about it, but as soon as I could I dropped her as my GYN anyway)...

Anyway to Robin-- just watch some comedy! Watch old Seinfeld episodes or something and stay away from TLC, Discovery and any medical dramas and you will probably feel a whole lot better!
