2 0|0|Just replanted my container garden... can use some advice|jdlaurie|savethosepennies@aol.com|14:41:12|04/04/2010|

Some of the things I planted are:

Snap Peas
Green Beans
Yellow Wax Beans
Tomatoes- regular size ones
lettuce
Green Peppers
Jalapeno Peppers
Cucumbers

My last go around was a bust. I got some Jalapenos, a few snap peas, a few heads of lettuce and that's it. Everything else became terminally ill. I'm going to make sure I water at the roots this time instead of the entire plant. But what could I be doing wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated I have lots of other stuff I would like to plant, but I'm afraid to start a garden in the back yard. How much work would it be in Florida to keep it up? I would love to plant zucchini, califlour, cherry tomatoes, carrots and lots of other stuff with more of the above... but since I work full time and can't keep up with everything else... i don't want to be in the backyard each and every weekend for hours.

I would also hate to put pesticides on everything... what is a good to keep bugs away?

Thanks.
Laurie

I had heard this from a friend and tried it for the first time 3 years ago. WOW!! The pepper plants did wonderful and I got a much bigger harvest. I use all egg shells. From raw eggs to boiled eggs. I wash them out and let them dry. Then crush them as good as you can and mix them right into the dirt.

Thanks!
