Ok, Lets see if i can explain this without a long story .....

Maybe i am having (survivors guilt) if thats what you call it! I wanted to have a yard sale this saturday to help out my daughter and her family that was struck by the tornado here in high point, nc.
But as i am going through things, I start thinking of them, the next road over and the more than 600 homes destroyed and the many of people that NEED the things. Sooooo many people are without anything!!!! While i want to help my family .... How can i do a yardsale when everything around us looks like a war zone and so many people need things????????? As i look around me ... A yardsale is the last of these peoples worries!!! I cant personally volunteer my time ... due to my health issues. I am torn ... i desperately want to help my own family, but i would feel guilty if i didnt help out my community too. Anyone one understand, what i am feeling? and what would YOU do? And i dont have anything of much value, so ebay really wouldnt be a great option. Thanks for any advise or suggestions you can send my way!

If you dont stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them!
A proud army mom ~ Regina 1|1|Regina what about donating some of the yard sale items, this way you can still help out|kandywolf|kandywolf@gmail.com|12:45:23|03/31/2010|

My only concern about having the sale is the amount of people that come, if people are without they might not have the money for the sale or even feel like it. What if you did the sale, but about closing time make what is left over free or really cheap so others that are looking for thing to replace what they lost could get some help, I realize that there may be some that take advantage of the generousity, but maybe put a jar out for donations explaining its for your daughter, so in the the end your daughter would get what the sale made (and maybe even some donations) and others would get some things they may need too. (hope this made sense) Either way it is a very generous thing you are trying to do!

Have a good one :)

Cheri 4|2|or post on craigslist free for donations to those who have lost their homes the items as well or go to your local charity group and see who is helping them and dontate it to the families|MyCat|mazashatat11@hotmail.com|14:57:39|03/31/2010|

you can also call your local stores and see who is will to donate things, i have gotten blankets n clothes from macys when i called them for my charity work for free to hand out to the homeless, other places have donated food and medications to me as well, so maybe you could call around looking for help for those families as well? just an idea
