This is part 2 of THE LAMB....PROMISE OF GOD.
Part one can be seen in last nights post.

PART 2

Love gives everything. Your father and your mother love you, and they give you all the good gifts they can. They feed you and clothe you and teach you and hold you close in the arms of love. And that is just what our heavenly Father does, and what the Comfortor, who is the Holy Spirit, does; and what the Saviour, who is the Son of God, does. God is three persons in one; the Father, the Comfortor, and the Son. And God so loved His children, even after they had sinned, that He poured out more of His love to save them.

The plan God made to save the world was that when the right time should come, the Son of God would leave His throne in Heaven, and be born as the baby of a woman. He would grow up without sin in this sinful world, and He would show the love of God by healing the sick and comforting the sorrowing, by feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and doing good to all. And so He would show the love of God. At last He would lay down His life to save from eternal death those who believe in Him.

And to be the sign of this coming Saviour, God told Adam and Eve to take a lamb, to slay it, and to offer it up as a burnt offering on the alter before which they prayed. It seemed to them a dreadful thing to take the life of an innocent lamb; but it taught them a little of the dreadful thing it was to sin and so cause the death of the Son of God. So the lamb became the sign of the coming Saviour, the Lamb of God.

They built their alter of stones before the gates of Eden. That still was home to them. They were like travelers on the road through life. Every day that went by and every night that passed meant that they were a little nearer the end. They must pass through death, but God told them that through His plan of salvation they would at last come back to their Eden home.
