We are both feeling so sad right now. But it was the best thing for her. She was suffering. They re-did the x-rays and it showed her lungs were worse then Wednsday. It was cancer & fluid & the mass around her heart was getting bigger and cutting her air off. They had told us she would only live 2 days to 2 weeks. They let us spend alot of time w/ her. I donated her carrying case. I didn't want to take it home empty.
I sure feel like a big baby. But she was like the child we could never have. So I hope people understand me.

also I seem to be the only one that can feed them or take care of them, we lost 2 cats in the last few months, one we had for about 15 years and he just came up missing the other we found dead in the back yard, we live at the foot of a hill and people drop off their dogs and they have formed a pack.We think they killed both of our cats the neighbor across the road also had a cat killed. I went through this a few years back and my heart was torn apart for 1.5 years. It took that long to mourn my Abbygirl. One day a stray came to use with 7 littles ones and we took her in from her constant begging for shelter/food..We adopted her and had her fixed and she became part of our household. It must have been meant to be. I still felt lost without my Abby so I found another Abyssinian and now I have 2 kitties to love and I'm so happy they are here. I too do not have children so these babies are OUR children and we treat them just as good. The pain is IMMENSE..time will take it slowly away but in the meantime, keep her in your heart and try to focus elsewhere..Eventually you will get another, I'm sure of that but don't rush until you are truly ready..Bless you

When our cat, Peaches, died about a year and half ago, I swore I would never get another cat because I just couldn't bear to go through that kind of heartache again :(
I kept telling DH not to let me get another cat no matter how much I begged (because periodically, I would say that I wanted another cat). Well, happily, this Christmas he surprised me with an adorable little white kitten. I am so glad that HE decided that I was finally ready for another cat :)

It gets a little easier to bear as time goes on but I don't think we ever get over the loss of our 4-legged loved ones any more than we get over the loss of our 2-legged loved ones.
