14 0|0|When do I mail out the wedding invites? More inside...|RobinsCrazyWorld|robinmarie72@gmail.com|14:25:56|03/19/2010|

Our wedding is June 26 in Oregon and a reception in Iowa on July 17. Both events are on one invite... That way EVERYONE is invited to the wedding and no one can b!&*h about not being invited to the wedding...

Jeromy think a few of his aunts and uncles may come to Oregon. His parents and brothers family already booked their flights (I almost freaked because that made everything more real... lol)and I am sure word has spread that we are getting married through out the family. So if anyone did want to come but are waiting for an invite before making travel plans they would need more of a heads up then someone who lives here in Portland...

When would you mail them out?
Also we are registered at 3 places... Family all over the country so everyone has an option... Do I put the registration card from each place in every envie? The info and links will also be on our wedding webpage...

4|1|I've heard 6 weeks, but if you have friends or family out of state, you may want to send them out two months before the wedding, so they can make travel plans :)|RebekkaVA|queen_vulture@msn.com|14:55:50|03/19/2010|

5|2|Would a "save the date" card work in this case?|couponshelmd|couponshel@comcast.net|15:28:55|03/19/2010|

I have recently started getting these notices before an actual invitation, especially if they might involve travel... that way the people who would consider attending one or both can plan ahead. It almost makes it like a heads-up that they are invited but then invitations can be ordered and mailed later.

I also read that there is no RSVP needed for a save the date card, in other words when I first got one and it didn't say anything, I looked it up online. It can be taken as a "regrets only" or to let the people know you are not able to attend but does not require a formal acceptance until the invitation arrives.

Just a thought! 7|3|Thought about that, but with postage being what it is I really do not want to mail out a couple hundred envies|RobinsCrazyWorld|robinmarie72@gmail.com|15:45:33|03/19/2010|

6|1|I'd say 2 months---- due to people having to make travel plans and probably shift work schedules.|Abbicca|Abbicca@insightbb.com|15:34:14|03/19/2010|

It also gives people a bit more time to come up with the money to afford the travel and/or gift. In this economy, I'd give people more time rather than less time. JMO..... good luck! 8|2|Thats what I have been thinking. People seem need more time now then say 3 years ago.|RobinsCrazyWorld|robinmarie72@gmail.com|15:46:25|03/19/2010|
