15 0|0|Has anyone on here been diagnosed with breast cancer? I have some questions - concerns (M)|tammytwo|tamdesigns@mchsi.com|18:04:45|03/15/2010|

Two weeks ago I found a lump in my breast. I have gone to the doctor, had a sonogram and mammogram and have a biopsy on Friday. They confirmed it is an 8 mm solid mass. Have any of you ever had a solid mass that has turned out to be non cancerous? Will I get biopsy results that day or have to wait? Just need some reassurance or comforting thoughts. Please no terrible horror stories. TIA

1|1|I dont have any experience with lumps or diagnosis of them, but I wanted to give you some moral support and a hand to hold while you are waiting for answers from the biopsy.....the waiting is awful, not knowing, imaging the worst...let it all go for now, focus on one thing at a time, and know we're here for you.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:11:23|03/15/2010|

3|2|My step Mom just beat breast cancer. Hers was found during a routine mammogram and she had several small lumps. The biopsy results took about 2 weeks to come back (but this in the UK)|jen_ron|bugsmamma@earthlink.net|19:59:59|03/15/2010|

really depends on the lab and how quickly they can process the mass. it is cut into section for viewing which takes time. usually very thin slices, dyes with various stains and then viewed.

there are different types of masses and the only sure way to find out exactly which one you have is to have the biopsy. I firmly believe in staying positive. Once you find out the results then you can go from there.

Meanwhile, hugs and prayers are with you that everything is normal and the mass is just hormonal. Feel the conmfort of your RS friends when you go on Friday.

6|2|Thank you all very much - I will focus on staying positive this week - Your kind words will make that easier|tammytwo|tamdesigns@mchsi.com|06:14:11|03/16/2010|

7|3|Results depend on which biospy they are doing. Fine needle aspiration they send off for results (got mine back in 5 days). But if its a core biospy, I had my results immediately following. I guess it depends on where you go though too.|tonyas30|tonyas30@hotmail.com|07:14:23|03/16/2010|

Either way I'm hoping they will let my husband go in with me. He says he wants to be there through it all regardless of what happens. He's staying positive...hope I can too.

Ok, I was a little frustrated when I got to the hospital on Friday and found out this particular appointment was only to see the doctor and set up an appointment for surgery. (The doctor said he gets that alot, the people who call to set up the appointment make it sound as if the surgery will be that day.) This Friday I will have the entire lump removed and they will send it off for testing. By the following Wednesday I should have results. The doctor seems very confident that it is fibro cystic because he has had a lot of them lately. I am feeling more at ease but still not so sure it isn't cancer. Whatever the outcome I know God is with me and I will be around to tell my story to educate others, even if it is cancer.
Thanks for all the positive thoughts and the prayers and please visit the website of a lady who has been battling this deadly disease for a few years now and is preparing for her final days on earth www.vickiedanner.com.

10|2|How frustrating. Leaves you hanging... Keep busy. I have a few fibro cystic, but they left them in, just poked into them for a needle biopsy to make sure what they were. Did that right at the time they did my mam... Was great because I didn't have time to worry.|RobinsCrazyWorld|robinmarie72@gmail.com|10:49:26|03/22/2010|

That bad part is I am without a vehicle this week. My oldest son had a wreck on Saturday night and (he was okay) but his car is doomed. He starts a new job today so he is using Dad's truck and Dad has my vehicle. If I had a vehicle I would be out running around gathering stuff for my paper but since I don't I will be sitting and doing all of my work from home which will make it harder to keep my mind off things. Anyway I will update as soon as I know something.

Now I'm in my early 40's and full of masses. It's hard not to worry but more often than not they are cancer free. Keep positive :)

Thanks!
