They alerted me to a questionable online order using my name and Discover card information....I ONLY use my Kohls credit card to place orders, they noticed this and called me to verify an order placed today using a Discover card with my name, and a different shipping address....this prompted me to of course call Discover immediately, and I was able to close that card out and was then made aware by Discover there had been one other purchase made from Macy's a couple days ago that I also didnt make....if Kohls had not noticed the sudden use of a Discover card instead of a Kohls card and the different address, I hate to think of the damage that could have been done! 2|2|I think that someone random got it, the last place I used it was at Amazon on March 2nd, bought Cody some shoes....not sure if it got hacked there, or someone hacked it/stole the numbers prior to that and was just waiting to use it.....the police are investigating it, they will be able to get the shipping address that was used for the Macy's order and the Kohls order. The officer that was here a bit ago said they'd be filing criminal charges, so I'll find out someday who it is, I'll be a witness in the case...sheesh, what some people won't do for stupid perfume! Wow!! It's getting ridiculous what some people will try. :( I've been reading about id theft & other kinds of theft being on the rise w/the iffy economy & all but to steal someone's name & card info just to purchase a bunch of stinky perfume, that's sheer stupidity. If someone's down on their luck & desparate, I can't imagine what purpose all that perfume would serve them, & Macy's isn't exactly frugal shopping either.
Just goes to show it's greed, pure & simple. I hope the authorities throw the book at whoever did this. :-p

only it was someone who signed up with DHL mail service delivering packages to a shipping dock in NYC using my name/address when I never signed up with this company! I was getting bills over 3 month period totaling over $3 thousand dollars! Because I never signed up with DHL, I didn't have to pay thankfully. With all the info on the computer, etc., such as white/yellow pages, getting your computer hacked, I can see how easy and how often identity theft occurs on daily basis. You really have to be on guard at all times, really scary. Sharon:)
