On the news the gov. decided that people drink to much sugared beverages so they think that if they put a 68 cents tax on a 2 liter of pop, people will cut down on drinking so much sugared beverages. I do not agree and I feel that why should the gov. try to control what we drink. I have been drinking pepsi for years and I do not intend to stop drinking it. They say others state have this tax or will be taxing sugar beverages in the future. I think the gov. is wrong and out of control. They say that people need to cut down on the sugar because they are to fat. The new tax will not help the problem.

My hubby is not obese and he drinks pepsi like water, where I drink diet tea and water only as I am obese, so why punish everyone? They are talking about it in PA also, them and their bright ideas, anything to screw us, like we dont pay enough for groceries

I am so tired of govt. "protecting" me because they think we're all stupid. Quit spending my money making stupid rules that cost businesses money to implement. Take some responsibility for your own actions, instead of blaming others. You don't want that much food, don't eat it. You want healthier options, fine, go somewhere else. Don't exercise and eat right, don't blame me or try to take away my little indulgences or tax me. People need to be responsible for what they do and not have Big Brother running our lives. I am getting very concerned over this intrusion into my private life, in the guise of "helping" me. Don't tell me you want to tax something so we will use less of it, that's a bunch of crock that never works. It just unfairly affects people.
Darn soft drinks are so expensive anyway, but nothing will make me give up my Pepsi! I may have to give up fresh fruits and veggies, they cost too much and don't last anyway. That will really help me be more healthy, thanks govt!
