Hi,

I'm writing an article this week on coupon organizing. I would like my fellow couponers to tell me how THEY organize their coupons. I will be publishing some responses.

Thank you
Michelle

In a zippered binder ..... with baseball card sleeves so I can see each coupon (each "page" holds multiple of 9 visible coupons). The pages are by category: Frozen food, Medicine, HairCare, Feminine Supplies, Canned, Pizza (yes, this has it's own category but is placed next to the frozen food category), Pasta, Pet, other HBA, Air fresheners, Drinks, Meats, Cookies/Cakes, etc etc etc.
About 20 or more different categories each with the labeled tab on the outside.

I don't move them by expiration date because I can see them all and can read the exp date.

But that's when I'm really on the ball and organized (a rarity, unfortunately). More often than not, I just grab the ones I am most likely to use and stuff them in an envelope and head to the store.

I just do categories and drop them in. Baby/Beauty/Beverage/Breakfast/Canned/Cleaning/Dairy/etc.

But it's my 'own' system. Cause stuff like sausage goes in dairy as it's found in the dairy section despite it being a breakfast food. I try to organize by stores. So the snack bars/cereal bars are all in breakfast.

pages. There are 4 sections. Food/drink, Pet, HBA items (includes batteries) and restaurant/toy store/store coupons

In each section there is no organization as per drinks, breakfast food, etc. They all are in the same secion. I don't have time to organize like that.

I put all the coupons I have cut out but haven't organized into the front zippered pocket. So when I have 10-20 min I sit down and organize them. I NEVER carry envelopes anywhere b/c I always end up losing them or leaving them in my car or something. Everything is in my binder 8|1|I switched from a binder to a coupon organizer for my purse|jdlaurie|savethosepennies@aol.com|23:11:37|03/06/2010|

the binder was great, but a pain to carry around. So I'd find myself in a store with a deal right in front of me and no coupons! Now they are always in my purse. I spent a whopping $2.50 on the plastic organizer (the paper ones kept ripping). I find that alot of the coupons I use weekly are printed anyway, so I check my sales each week, print what I need and put them in a special place in my organizer... then I go through the rest of my coupons to see what deals there are for the week and they all go in the same place for when I'm in the store. This works much easier for me.
