and I was able to get it off with a magic eraser. It was on wood end of a sleigh bed. Just an idea. I don't know what the couch is made of.

Mostenbockers I think is the name of this stuff and they have one that removes paint, nailpolish, marker, etc. It might be an option.

we have a new living room set too and I wasnt too happy when it happened but I just used a damp cloth and rubbed it out.
our couch is brown fabric and most of the marker came out. I was afraid it would make the stain worse and smudge it but it almost all came out. Good luck! 8|3|mostenbachers might work. I believe it's good on fabrics|jdlaurie|savethosepennies@aol.com|22:09:42|03/05/2010|

The link is in my post above.

I had a guy in work that just spent $75 on a nice dress shirt, somehow he managed to lean into a highlighter (he must have fell asleep on it or something!), it was everywhere on his shirt it bled through everything. He came to me and asked what to do... I sent him for the mostenbachers stuff and he brought it back went into the bathroom and saved his shirt. It all came out.

Mostenbachers makes like 4 different kinds of remover for all different kinds of stains. I've used them on clothes before. They have one for pet and grass stains, one for paints, nailpolishes, markers etc (i used to use them to get prices off a tags from thrift stores, one for oily stains and one for something else.

Might be worth checking out. They also sell a small 4 pack of all the different ones... great to have on hand just in case. 9|4|here's the link -- it works on Upholstery, carpet etc!|jdlaurie|savethosepennies@aol.com|22:12:16|03/05/2010|

Laurie 6|1|This brings back memories :) My neighbor was "watching" his three you old twins while his wife was at work and they found a couple of sharpies and had a blast with them. The parents ended up having to turn it into their insuranc company as the damage was so widespread.|Ranalt|ainebailey@gmail.com|12:24:32|03/05/2010|

They ruined the carpet, the furniture, the tile, the walls, the wood floors. His wife showed us insurance pics and the damage was just unbelievable.
Needless to say Dad never fell asleep watching the twins again.
Good thing too. Those two were full of it:)

I think it was Shout. My DH friend had a red permanent marker in his back poket that leaked all over our
biege recliner.
I used the pre-treater and a damp cloth and worked on it for an hour, but it DID remove the marker.
