MY DAUGTHER TOOK MY GRANDDAUGHTER TO A DENTIST YESTERDAY AND THEY WANT TO PULL HER 4 FRONT BABY TEETH I GUESS THEY ARE ALL BLACK IN THE BACK. FRONT ARE NICE OK NO PROBLEM. SHE DOESN'T COMPLAIN THEY ARE SORE.
I GUESS THEY CANNOT PUT A CHILD UNDER 2 TO SLEEP TO PULL THEM. THEY WANT TO TRY TO CROWN THEM AND SEE IF IT WORKS OTHERWISE PULL THEM. JUST PUT HER IN A STRAIGHT BACK AND FILL HER UP WITH NEEDLES I WOULD ASSUME TO NUMB HER AND CROWN THEM AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK PULL THEM OUT.
MY DAUGTHER IS DEVASTED AND I THINK IT NOT GOING TO HAVE THIS DONE AT THIS TIME.
HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THIS.

If the child is small, please consider having them crowned. My 5 yo (then 4) whacked his front tooth so many times the root reabsorbed. It was loose and we had to take it out. He has had a gap up top for months and its new tooth might be a long while in coming. They told me he could be six or more before it erupts. If you are looking at years of not having teeth there... that is a long time. People comment all the time because he is too young to have that tooth gone.
Losing one tooth isn't so bad, but four would be really bad considering how long it takes to get permanent teeth in. For self esteem issues later on, it might be well worth the investment.
On the other hand, I do know someone who did have their toddler's teeth pulled and some capped. I'll admit it, she looked really goofy and I stared. She looked like that for years until her permanent teeth came in.

Never heard of that.
My son at 16 had to have back baby teeth removed to allow the permanent teeth come in, which were sitting there but unable to push the babies out.

he had no problems with the procedure it did take him awjile to get his big boy teeth but I never heard him say he was teased for it his teeth came in really straight The only thing I can think of he had a problem with was he needed speach class they say it had nothing to do with not haveing them but I still wonder I guess you could have them crowned if you have money laying around to do so I'm not sure I would take teh chance that they would still have to come out in the end 5|1|Missing all 4 front teeth|jdlaurie|savethosepennies@aol.com|18:54:36|03/04/2010|
I just wanted to mention that my son (who's 7) lost all 4 of his teeth naturally at the same time and he had problems eating and I didn't notice this for a while.... Because when you eat you use your front teeth to tear items, he had problems eating pizza and any larger pieces of food. I had to make sure I cut everything up into bite size pieces so he could put it in the back of his mouth to eat. He couldn't eat pizza, a burger, a hot dog, etc. Normal things that kids eat. He had to tear them apart with his hands or have them cut. I wish I would have realized this right away, it really frustrated my son and he started refusing food until I figured it out!
Just something to think about. Your child might need some help with food for a while if you choose to pull the teeth.

my sil is going thur this too but her ds is 3 his teeth are rotting and they want to pull all 4 i told her id get a 2nd opinion because 3 or 4 years is a long time for them to grow back he may be made fun of etc.. my advice was to her to keep them as long as she could also u have to watch them closely they can infect their gums and cause infection and will have to be removed asap good luck with whater she decides i think the juicy juice my sil feed him is the culprit that was all he drank for 2 yrs
