My son is 22 and in the Army Guard...He has a lump on this throat...so we told him to go see our family dr
Did a sonogram... It is an enlared thyroid gland. Now they what to do blood work and he said an "EMT".. He might have got that wrong. But being a MOM I would like to know if any of you know what test they could mean...and how they do it.
Just a little worried at this point...He's my baby...and is never sick...and is in very good shape.
Thanks to all.

He just called back said the "EMT" was for a consult with a doctor after his blood work is done. Hope this makes sense have not dealt with this type of thing before. 1|1|EMT stands for "epithelial to mesenchymal transition"....difficult to explain in writing in layman's terms, but it would be a test to see if the epithelial cells are developing and forming correctly in my understanding.....sorry I dont really have any more info, I know just a little bit about this, not enough to be a good source of info....I'd recommend he contact the doc and ask for a full explanation of the test itself and the reasons for it.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:25:02|03/04/2010|
