is it normal for a telephone company a area code from southern ohio to someone up in another area code up in northern ohio? I am in 937 and the phone company gave the area code to a 440 # some 50 miles away. I am thinking something is not right. My future daughter in law can note get phone service in her name at the area code 440 and so I am thinking she used my name to get a phone number. Is it poosible? I heard some not nice things about magic jack. I put the phone number that she has and it came up the it was linked down her in southern ohio.

1|1|ALmost all of Oregon has the same area code. We have to dial 10 #'s to just call across the street, but if I want to call across the state I have to dial a 1 first. 2|1|Not sure if this is what you mean, but my cell phone numbers (we have four cell phones) all have our actual area code....we have Verizon.
