Ok, so around here we have these cherry trees that are full of pink blossoms in the spring. When they all start to fall it looks like it is raining pink! I have loved them since my first spring in Oregon. I always have said I want a cherry tree someday! We bought this place last summer. When we moved in it was mid August and the trees all around were covered in green. I didn’t give any thought into what type of trees were around. Well yesterday I was sitting in my chair and I looked into my back yard… Guess what I saw??? Petite pink blossoms growing over my fence! The tree is in my next door neighbors back yard and it grows over our yard a bit as well! Yay! I looked out front and we have two of the same trees there as well! Yay!! In a couple of months I will see pink rain in my very own yard! Small thing I know, but it makes me VERY happy!

3|2|I av my eye on a weeping willow. We are going to be building our deck in a month or so. Except I LOVE lilacs! Grew up w/one right outside my bedroom window & it was just awesome to lie in bed w/my window open in spring & have the beautiful smell of lilacs wafting in thru the window.
Had a Japanese lilac bush I'd planted years ago at the "he(( hole" that never got to mature or blossom cuz I had to keep trimming it or catch heck from the landlord. When I moved 2 yrs. ago to where I'm at now, I vowed I was going to eventually have TONS of lilacs, with various blooming times so there'd be some going all thru summer. Imagine my tickled surprise when the neighbor lady told me that the small & strange looking bush outside my living window is a hybrid lilac (someone had evidently trimmed it way down), & my neighbors on the other side of me have at least a half dozen taller lilac bushes! :) I also got a few lilac shoots elsewhere last year & altho they're "hybernating" in small pots & covered w/snow right now, guess what I'm going to be planting outside my bedroom window come spring??? LOL I'd eventually like to line my whole front yard w/them but 1st have to get rid of the 3 monstrous pine trees that are currently in the way. ;-p
