I am making a pot of soup with veggies and stuff I need to use up, I want to put some rice in it, do I just add the rice (it's the long cooking type) or do I cook it first?

you will need to cook the soup at least 30 minutes to get the rice done
I would add the rice last after you have added everything else and cook 30 to 45 minutes
Be careful how much rice you use otherwise your soup will be all rice and very sticky

I will just add a cup or so to the soup, I bought the long cooking kind because its way cheaper!
