I never knew this before but just recently found out mine (netbook) just works by plugging it after taking battery out.

Take the battery out, and if netbook works with charger plugged in, it's the battery with the problem. I had to order a new battery for my netbook 1 month after I got it. Luckily it was under warranty. I read reviews for Acer netbooks and they sometimes have weak batteries.

I understand what you were saying about the battery but no, its the actual charger that is bad, not my battery. My FIL is an electrician and he checked it out for me. If anyone has a dell laptop, then you know you have a cable that plugs into the outlet and that plugs into a black box, then at the other end of the black box is another cable that plugs into the computer. The black box itself has shorted out somewhere in there and my FIL couldnt fix it so I had to order another charger. Still waiting on it.

I actually ordered the cord from Overstock, not Dell. At Dell it was $65 + shipping, at Overstock it was $15.95 shipped. If its not here tomorrow, then Sat when my friend and I go on our shopping trip, Im goin by best buy to see if they have a charger there. Gotta have my laptop back. LOL
