I woke up about 5:30 this morning & shortly before 6, felt some kind of weird vibration on my feet. Looked outside for the snowplow going by but there wasn't anything going by at all. Then I got nervous wondering if it was my furnace or my house going kahooey! LOL Then it came on the tv about a 4.3 quake in/around the Chicago area. Holy cow, that's TOO close! :-O

There's no fault lines where I'm at but we still feel some rumbling/tremors underfoot (pardon the pun) if the quakes are strong enough & close enough.
I imagine they got a little nervous cuz talk about a weird, eery feeling.

3|3|Nope, didnt wake me at all....the epicenter was less than 40mins from me, near Northern IL Univ, but I bet lauri felt it, she lives right there! No earthquake insurance....although native Illinoisans know about the major fault line that runs through the midwest.....supposedly it's bigger than the San Andreas, but not as active.....we did have an earthquake a few years ago that knocked a couple pictures off my wall though....|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:03:34|02/10/2010|

Fortunately, it doesn't extend this far north but when it gets an urge to do the hokey pokey every once in awhile, the tremors sure do. LOL
No damage or anything like that here but it sure scared the beejeebies out of me. Amazing how stuff like that can travel so far like that in the ground & be felt so far away.
I have duct work to a heat register right under my feet when I'm at my desk so am used to that pinging under my feet every once in awhile, but this was a bit more than a little pinging. Felt like an animal w/the hiccups had gotten into the duct! LOL

At least then people would've had some kind of warning so they weren't so surprised, & scared. I mean this coming on the heels of Haiti's quake & all.... Makes a person a little paranoid. LOL

Me and DH both jumped out of bed, house shaking, dog barking, then it was done.

No damage at my house, work had a few things knocked off shelves. Made for an interesting start to the day :) 10|3|I thought of you immediately when I heard where the earthquake originated, Lauri!|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:50:41|02/10/2010|

guy suggested we get the insurance for it we thought he was on crack but did it We have it here on this house too and last year or the year before there was a small one we felt it but no damage but some homes in the area had cracks in their foundations and most did not have the insurance so they could not claim it
