8 0|0|anyone make chocolate covered bananas? I have a question|shellysmsmo|jpksms@sbcglobal.net|09:12:20|02/05/2010|
Do you freeze the banana first? or do you wait till you dip them in chocolate and freeze them?
Do you have to use lemon juice on the banana before you dip them? I'm going to make them this
weekend and i'm not sure..there are different recipes..but just wanting to see from someone
that actually has made them??? any help is appreciated.
1|1|I haven't made them but I believe you freeze them AFTER dipping in chocolate, on waxed paper. HTH. :)|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|09:43:59|02/05/2010|
ETA: I don't think you have to use lemon juice on the bananas tho....

2|2|Actually, freeze for an hour BEFORE dipping in chocolate......|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|10:17:30|02/05/2010|
That way when you dip the banana in the chocolate, the chocolate will cool off faster and solidify....otherwise, the chocolate has a tendency to slide off the banana and not give you a nice thick coating.
I don't know about the lemon juice part. I usually just buy the little chocolate kit at the store, and I don't recall seeing anything in the instructions about the lemon juice (although that would seem like a good way to keep the banana from looking dark). 3|3|thanks everyone..I'm going to try one in a little bit|shellysmsmo|jpksms@sbcglobal.net|10:26:21|02/05/2010|
I'll try one and see how it goes... thanks for the info! 4|3|Aha! Now I know for when/if I ever make them. LOL Thanks Lauren! :)|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|10:51:12|02/05/2010|

Got the chocolate but not the bananas and we're holed up waiting for the storm to move in. Guess I'll have to wait :)
Good luck with the fruit! It sounds delicious.
