the Old Farmers Almanac says Feb 11-16 snowstorm, then lake snows and cold and 17-20 snowstorm and cold. March says 10-14 snowstorm and 15-22 heavy snow. Pretty much snow all the way thru Feb & March ..only a couple days of rain in there where it got warm enough for that. This is for the lower lakes region which includes a good part of IL as well. It actually started yesterday afternoon & has been keeping on pretty much ever since. The only good thing I can think of to come of it is that the new, clean snow brightens things up but the best part is that the groundhog likely did NOT see his shadow this morning so that means an early spring??!!
