I ordered a bunch of groceries on line this morning and they will be delivered here tomorrow night.....I'm curious to see how this works....I'm able to use my coupons, plus there was a great first time promotion going on so this should be interesting!

Has anyone else used the Stop and Shop Pea Pod delivery program? And if so, how was your experience? 1|1|well...|noway|stormybizzles@yahoo.com|21:03:43|01/24/2010|

They're not exactly punctual. And the first time I ordered, I tested them by ordering breakable things like eggs and bread. The eggs were completely smashed and the bread was smooshed. So if you're a stickler, I'd say this service is bad. But if you're simply ordering canned goods and sodas and the like, I'd recommend. Otherwise, the half thawed frozens and cracked eggs break the deal. I'm out of Fairfield county Connecticut just so you have an idea of where I ordered. 2|2|Oh no! That's horrible...as a matter of fact I did order eggs and bread....|kellysp6637|frugalk76@aol.com|21:09:15|01/24/2010|

I'm located in Cape Cod...so hoping and praying I get a different driver....because I'd hate to be the delivery person handing my husband smooshed bread and cracked eggs LOL..... 3|1|How does that work using coupons??|Kristy|mi3zons1@yahoo.com|21:43:10|01/24/2010|

they take them to their office and then they deduct the coupons from your order. so there is lots of room for error with this..you have to calculate what your total ought to be, in order to make sure they didn't mess up and charge too much. it takes almost a week for the amount to be deducted from your credit card/debit/etc. 4|1|I've only done it 3 times because I love to grocery shop, but I loved it|whitmarg|robin@whitmannet.com|21:46:28|01/24/2010|

There was absolutely nothing wrong. My produce was awesome. My meats were fresh. My eggs and breads were fine. They put all the bags in my kitchen and I was happy. Oh, I intentionally bought eggs, fresh things and frozen items to test it and all were fine. 5|1|I used Peapod about 9 years ago...|hudge4|hudge95@yahoo.com|22:27:43|01/24/2010|

I had 2 little ones and lived in an apartment so I liked the idea of them coming to me and didn't mind paying the fee (I think it was $10). It was worth it. I seem to remember them having problems deducting my coupons right and they used to bring me an item or two I didn't order so I'd have to call them to get a refund.

Safeway here in CA does delivery now and they are great. Worth every penny and usually they have codes to deliver free or reduced fee. They usually have deals online, too.
