I know someone who works from home and loves it. She sent me the following e-mail. Hope it helps someone out.

i work for a company called LIVEOPS. they are very definitely on the up and up--you have to pay for your background/credit check and that is it. LIVEOPS is probably the premier company in the US for work at home. we have several disabled operators, single parents, retired people such as my self, and from any other situation you could imagine. it is a great company to work for. you need good computer, quiet office space as you will be taking phone calls. Most of the lines are dedicated to infomercials, however, they do have other lines. some of the calls are outbound but are generated from calls where people have already called in to purchase products, so there is no cold calling telemarketing. the company also does overflow pizza hut calls, some customer service related calls, etc. we are in the middle of handling calls for the haitian crisis at the present and it has been a humbling experience to say the least. we did calls for the telethon last nite and also exclusively handled the calls for the Larry King show on Haiti. they also have an insurance line for licensed insurance agents.

a good place to check out work at home is ratracerebellion. they have some good companies. work at home moms and workplace forum are some good sites also.

other companies that come to mind also are VIPDESK CONNECT, ARISE, WEST AT HOME, etc. The list is pretty extensive for legitimate companies. check out the web sites i have referenced above and good luck. it is not a hopeless situation at all if you know where to look.

Thank You
