January 3rd I cam down with a real bad cold, and 2 days later started to turn into bronchitis, so I quit smoking. Someone posted a tip awhile ago that when they craved a cig to tell yourself 5 minutes and then i'll have one...during those jones times I would pop a piece of hard candy(jolly rancher or cough drop) and within 3 minutes the craving would go away...the worst cravings were when I had my first cup of coffee for the day(as always had a cig along with that)and after a meal...but after 1 week and half, the cravings subsided...no need to pop the candy in my mouth...and all cravings are gone now...I am ciggy free! Geesh, now when I walk past a smoker I smell how bad I use to smell...yuck!! lol!!
** So if you wanna quit smoking wait till you get a bad cold or flu...much easier to quit..that's how my brother quit also. he got really sick and couldn't smoke..
We never smoked in the house, so I think that helped me as well. Now if I could get bf to quit.I know he will on his own time, I am not pressuring him.
