I am so happy that haley does so well in school...and in the past have given her money..etc.
With travis we always gave him $5 an A... well haley makes straight A's..today her report was
all A's...and that's 8 A's.. that would be $40 just wondering what everyone else does?

You can always reward with other things. I don't see anything wrong with rewarding with money... if you collect a paycheck, you are being "rewarded" for doing your job. Good grades could also mean a special movie at the movie theater, or something else they'd want to do.
My parents rarely gave us money for grades... I think I remember once, but that was for straight As. My dad did give me like 5 bucks or something (that was a lot of money back 25 years ago!) but we were expected to have good grades. But we (for the most part) wanted to get good grades for ourselves.

We reward for lots of things... (not chores, those are responsibilities)
For grades, every quarter if they have all A's and B's they get a choice... We have a chart... They can choose a movie out, chore passes, a new toy, gift card to their favorite stores, mani/pedi out with mom, etc... As rewards are taken I replace with other things.... If you get a C you better have a darn good reason and we'll talk, more than 1 C, or a D or F and you are instantly disqualified... (I do not punish for bad grades thou, I figure they learn the consequence that way)
We use the Chart for everything from grades, to getting a new belt in their martial arts classes, I even use the chart to get their Halloween candy lol...
