HI: overnight temps have been, and continue to be, below freezing!! And even into next week! I am here from the North for the nice warm/hot winter weather!! LOL. Fruit and other produce prices are probably going to climb dramatically, so be prepared! Just FYI.

the governor declared a State of Emergency for Arkansas. Tonight's low temp. is supposed to be 7 degrees, with Friday's high temp. only reaching 20 degrees! WTH! It rarely gets this cold here. For the next three nights, the nightly low temps will be in the low single digits or just below zero...and that is without adding in the wind chill factor. Brrr....who forgot to pay the heating bill? 5|1|Funny story about the cold.....|Gammiesue|snschapin@yahoo.com|21:19:21|01/07/2010|

Our newspaper reported today that a flight out of the airport yesterday was delayed for two hours due to ice. Yes, ice!!! There aren't any de-icing machines here so they had to wait for two hours for the sun to melt the ice so the plane could safely take off. When an airport official was asked when they might get de-icing equipment, he replied... when Florida gets snow plows! It's cold here and it's not supposed to be!!!

burst in the well shed and underneath the bathroom of a tenant. The well shed was repaired by a plumber on Thursday for $441. Now, it's leaking around a joint that the plumber installed...grrr. The plumber is supposed to come out today and fix his mistake, at no charge. However, the other burst pipe is currently pouring water down the frozen hillside, in 22-degree weather, behind the tenants' cabin. This is working my last nerve! 12|3|Yikes! global warming is to blame for the extreme weather the nation has had so far this Winter and during 2009...at least partially. Arkansas' weather has gotten warmer over the years. Animal species that did not call Arkansas home now are calling it home. Examples are more alligators, increasing armadillo counts, migratory birds which normall skip over the state during their migration southward, now are choosing to nest in Arkansas over the winter. Some bird species have moved further North. Pythons and monkeys and iguanas in Florida...and these species are not native to this country, yet they thrive now. Europe, especially the U.K., is being hit with the worst snowstorm in decades as well; very unusual for them.

More weather extremes are to be expected as the global climate warms, causing instability in the atmosphere and in the ocean waters. More and more volcanoes are erupting, many waking up after decades of dormancy. These volcanoes spew ash into the atmosphere, causing vivid sunsets and altering the climates. 16|5|Wow, it makes you wonder what the next generation is in for!|missy|lovetotrade@hotmail.com|20:01:01|01/09/2010|
