We had went to take my comp to the geek squad to check and stopped at a friends for a few hrs and came home to alot of stuff being gone.
i am so upset. I wasn't having a great holiday anyway with hubby out of work and being laid off. Now how to tell everyone that i don't have any Christmas and how to explain to the ones that had boxes coming that i don't have them. Hubby went to the soc sec doc on Tuesday and said we should know something within 6 weeks but... I haven't been on here much because i have tried to just keep everything inside as everyone is having a lot of problems but this was just TOO much today.

Years ago there was a string of robbery's near x-mas. someone tried to rob my house a week and half before x-mas, they tried to climb in through my kitchen window, but thankfully my big doberman scared them off...all they got was my empty leather wallet I left laying on the kitchen table that was by the kitchen window.. I was gone that time 2 hours to go do laundry, I think someone was watching my apartment, as they tried to rob me while I was gone...my window screen was laying on the kitchen floor, that was the first thing I noticed that someone tried to break in.

The authorities around here have been warning people for at least a couple mos. now to make sure to keep the doors, windows & garage doors locked up, even when home/in bed due to the way the economy has been & w/the Holidays approaching. They're also encouraging the Neighborhood Watch groups to be a little more diligent (nosey if you will) in keeping eyes peeled even after the Holidays are behind us for the year.
I see City & County cops go by here at least 4-5 times a day. Comforting but at the same time, it's sad that it has gotten to this....
I hope the cops are able to find the culprits who did this to you & can get your stuff back.

it is not your fault the stuff was stolen. the trader should understand this and if the trade cant be replaced then they should accept their $$ back. Have you considered contacting your local paper and asking them to do a story on what happened to you? When Dr. Seuss told the story about the grinch it was funny, but in real life it is heartbreaking. Maybe they can motivate some local people to help you replace some of your things?
I'm trying to think of some other ways we might be able to help. If you send me info on where you live (and your permission), I would be glad to contact the papers near you.

we had that happen in our town once. home broken into, took everything, then Christmas eve when the family went to services, they broke in again and cleared them out. guess they knew all the stuff would be replaced. and our property vandalized i have lost count! we move alot because of all our parents divorces when we were kids then being in the military as adults. it doesn't matter where you are or where you live.we have never gotten any of our stolen items back. yeah we reported every home and car theft robbery.our cars have been sideswiped ,dented,and keyed never found out who did it.one house i lived in got spray painted with graffitti.and another time our house got broken into when we were asleep thank god my mom woke up and yelled for my dad the theif ran right out our front door.dad never caught him.i hope karma catches up with every one of those deadbeats! one time our car was broken into for some scratched up cds and it cost us 2500 to fix the damage to the car they beat up the car and popped all the locks and busted out all the windows!our cars/trucks have been robbed sitting right in front of our house in broad daylight! we have had a least six cheap car radios stolen out of our cars and trucks sometimes i wish we would have just left the windows rolled down it would have been cheaper than replacing the radio and the busted out windows.lets not talk about how many times we have been robbed at work! my hubby has had lunches,gloves,hats,jackets,wallet,glasses,cell phones,and i have had a sweater stolen that matched a top i was wearing that day stolen right off the hanger!at one job which i loved all employees had to have clear purses/bags/totes and be checked coming and going never got robbed there.my hubby's work related thefts sicken me the most he is deployed right now and got robbed the first week he was there still has not found his stuff yet and some of his stolen items have had his name sowed into them or etched with a knife.I would like to just once catch one or even have just one return an item and say they are sorry but yeah right like that will happen.
