My family loves my taco dip. It drives me nuts it's so stinking easy but his family, my family (both mom and dad's sides). It's all what they ask me to bring. I make my first one this Friday it will be the first of five or so. Sigh

I host all of the family gatherings / parties throughout the year and each Christmas I make a "signature" Brandy Slush - (add the Brandy AFTER the slush is poured into the glass) ...that way, the non-drinkers and children can still enjoy the slush...
It's something that everyone enjoys, looks forward to and expects at my holiday party...
It takes several hours to make....but most of that time is "freeze" time.....so it's not a biggy...
BUT.....Christmas cookies....*i~yi~yi*....
I used to really enjoy it.... spending a day with the kids making, baking and decorating cookies....alot of great memories!
But now....the kids are older....moved out on their own far away (closest one is almost 3 hrs away and farthest is my son, who moved 5 states away!!)....(only have one left at home...he is 15...and doesn't "enjoy" cooking or baking)....
And through the years, life has gotten busier than ever (especially with our business)....and finding time to bake several dozen cookies ...by myself....
ahhh.....it's lost it's joy! lol
Maybe I'm bah-hum-buggin'....but I find it to be a bother....
I don't even get that sense of satisfaction afterward....when they're all decorated so perdy....lol.
Maybe if life wasn't so busy....and I had the extra time to spare a day to bake & decorate cookies without thinking in the back of my mind of the zillion other things I need to get done....
Maybe I'd have a different feeling about it...
So, Christmas Cookies is the thing I dread most out of the holiday season.
THANK GOD ...I can buy them at the store if I need to! hahaha!!

I've made it for a couple of special occasions & now, everybody wants it ALL the time. It's not overly difficult to make but it does require a few different flavors of jell-o that need to be set in brownie pans & then cubed. It's really good but noone else wants to hassle w/all the pans & cubing. :-p

Can't get that good stuff here in NC...believe me I've looked for years.
I was able to find some when I went on vaction in July to MN...YUM-O! But when I stopped at the same place on the way home to carry some back with me were out...oh, I was so sad!
