Hi Everyone! I missed you all and I know I missed some great deals.
I've literally missed a whole year of my life.
First off I would like to thank everyone who sent me cards (Shelly, Joy, Kathryn, Debi, Liz, Nikki, Amy, Angie, Lydia, Diane, Donna, Angela and Jodie) and I wanted to thank Debi and Amy for the boxes they sent. The ladies at chemo loved the little gift bags! And I wanted to thank Jodie for keeping in touch with me via phone. I cannot tell you all how much I truly appreciated everything, most especially everyone's prayers.
I hope I didn't miss anyone, if so I apologize. There were periods I was so out of it, I could not tell you what was going on.
I wanted to give everyone an update. I finished chemo October 2009 (yes!) and just have had a heck of a time with the breast cancer and all the long lasting side effects of the chemo drugs. I have the pulmonary embolism blocking my right lung, mets to it and its infarctured (I think that is what it is called), double pneumonia, peripheral neuropathy in my hands and feet (some days I can barely walk), difficulty breathing, and have lymphdema in my left arm from the double mastectomy and node dissection. I still have my chemo port which oncologist wants me to keep for one year. I go monthly to get it flushed and get labs done. I am tired and generally feel overwhelmed all the time. I have a severe case of chemo brain. It’s like the cartoons where the character gets electrocuted and his whole body goes zzzzzz! It’s just my brain that it happens to and its often stuck in the zzzzz! I feel like a freak. Personally, everything is a mess, but I don’t feel comfortable posting the details. Most of my days are spent horizontal and not vertical no matter how hard I try. And I try everyday.
On a positive note, I’m alive, I’ve gained back all my weight and then some (30 pounds), and my hair is starting to grow back in and I finally have my eyebrows/eyelashes back. Well, I really have a lot of hair all over my face, which I didn’t before, so I sort of look like a Chubby Chewbacca with peach fuzz on top LOL.
I’m going to go rest for a bit.

Wonderful to see you post. Please continue to post here as so many people are praying/pulling for your complete recovery. Yes, I could tell you horror stories about the chemo, etc. but WON'T. Just know that you will get through it and look back and wonder why you ever worried about anything. It doesn't take much energy to sit at the computer and read what all the rest of us are up to - a nice way to spend some time with us.

I was just thinking of you today...well...I think of you often..but today I was wondering how you are doing. Praying that you continue to heal, the worst is hopefully behind you. Take one day at a time. Email when you get a chance and give me a new goodie list of things you need.

Sorry that I am just now getting back online after posting my update, I'm still having a hard time making it to the desk top. Thanks for the warm welcome back and for the continued prayers. I really appreciate it! I've received many emails asking for me to do a wish list for me & my family. I appreciate this more than I can express, but my girls (12 & 18) already know that there won't be gifts and they are fine with that. I wasn't able to do an application for any local agency as the deadline had passed by the time that I called.The girls know how hard of a year it has been and they see how much we struggle with just basic necessities so they understand. It's been just as hard on them, even harder since they are kids and just don't know how to handle it (heck, I am an adult and struggle with it!), and I know we are all just very thankful this year. Hubby is building (in secret) a shelf for them to hang in each of their rooms that will hold their girly stuff (nail polish, perfume, etc) :) I also won't be posting a needs list for myself or about the personal things that have happened as I don't want any nasty emails like I received earlier this year. I gotta go pee LOL and then I am going to lay down and cover up, I'm freezing! I probably won't be back online til tomorrow. Again, thank you all for the your support and prayers.

do not let some narrow minded person cause you additional stress.you are already going through enough of that. you have alot of great people on this board who do care about you and your family. may the nasty personneve rhave to go through even 1/3 of what you have endured. So sorry someone was mean to you but dont let it bring you down
