She had a major meltdown just before the Christmas parade and when I saw Mrs Clause I casually mentioned that I could talk to the big guy and she looked at me with big huge fearful eyes and promised she was a changed girl! We'll see if it sticks, but so far it has been nice.

I've wanted it for a long time and J always teased me and said I would never get it because I would never have a coupon for it. We went to a charity auction that benefits local disabled and my friend Mori's tattoo place had donated a certificate good for $50 towards one. I bid $25 and won it and then last night she gave me another discount, so what would have been $75 was $35! Jason said that only I would do that!
I briefly considered getting a tattoo of a coupon, and although that struck me as terribly funny, that was not quite "right".
I'd been thinking about a memorial tattoo for Dylan for a lot of years but I did not want something that would feel depressing either.
So after much careful thought I got a spiral circle (celtic looking) that represents all of the things I have learned so far. On top of it is a small circle that is for Jason and underneath the circle there are 4 more small circles, one for each of my kids. I finished writing my first book too, so it was sort of a nod to that as well.
Aren't I dangerous?

since we have twins, we would get one of each child's feet and his name above it; and then their birthdate in the middle... still have to sketch it out and have a good artist render it to fit with the feet their actual size at birth from the certificates. I am like you (I believe! from what you described) that I need a tattoo to "mean something" and not just be body art. I also try to think if I am going to want that art in ten or twenty years... just like you will always want your symbolic one.
Kristy, I only ever saw one wedding ring tattoo in person and it looked SO real, hubby has considered it since he is not allowed to wear his band in his shop (could loose a finger quickly, he has seen some nasty injuries from guys who forgot to take them off and got them caught).
