My nieces 2 year old son went to the ER tonight and was rushed into emergency surgery to remove what they can tonight. He will be there for at least a week. His name is (Aiden) Please say a prayer. My 10 month old grandson has been around him and now he is breaking out .. hoping its just a allergic reaction to something. Can someone tell me .. how long this is contagious and if lysol and washing everything in hot water is all i can do. Is there anything else to make sure, its not in my home and doesnt spread to anyone else?

I am taking my grandson today to be checked. I would rather be safe than sorry. Keep praying its only a allergic reation to something. Then i am going to the hospital to check on my nephew. They cut his leg twice to get what pus they could out. He was so sick tuesday and yesterday with this too. He has also had breathing problems and on oxygen, because of mold in thier house. So his immune system is low. I did not know he could carry this for the rest of his life until today. Poor baby! Please keep Aiden in your prayers. And pray for Ashton that he doesnt get it too. One baby is more than enough! Thanks again everyone. I am off to take care of this and to find a elmo for Aiden.

Ok, i have taken care of everything i needed to do today. Ashton has excema (sp?) and Impetigo. Yes another highly contagious infection. And he grabbed my face and gave me all kinds of kisses. Now i have been exposed to this. I itch just thinking about how bad he looks, but i wouldnt have traded those kisses for nothing in the world!!!!!!! I just want to know why and where all these contagious things are coming from! urghhhh ... If they werent babies, i wouldnt be half as frustrated as i am now. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

i was told not to be around anyone
i had it on my face started out as a zit and in my nose that was the worst pain
and on my leg
i took my fingers and pulled the infection out of my face and it healed
i had to have antibiotics for it
my nose was another story it hurt soo bad but i kept putting neosporin on a q tip and rubbin the inside of my nose
and my leg spot i kept neosporin on
and now i have spots where the MRSA was but gone
Kevin had MRSA on one knee went to doc the idiot didnt' know what it was
they scrubbed his leg and he screamed they got a culture and it was MRSA
well the other knee ended up with it so he ended up with it on both knees at the same
time he had to have antibiotics and keep neosporin and bandages on his knees
he told his teachers that what he had could kill him
i about died but that is what the doc said in front of him
but he is ok now with small scars from the spots
he had played in a pile of dirt and i think that might be what started all his mess
praying for your little ones
just make sure if and when you handle your sick ones that you wash your hands good with soap and water
or purell and don't touch openings to your body
praying that they pull thru all this and get well soon

It was like a big, gross hole in my finger that started out small and got to the size of a nickle. The Dr's didn't know what it was but diagnosed MRSA and started antibiotics. I was allergic to the top two choices of antibiotic and so was given a third, weaker type. I had to go in every other day for them to check it. Besides the antibiotic, I soaked in warm salt water, used hydrogen peroxide and neosporin every few hours for 2 weeks. Finally it started to heal.
Weird thing was the Dr wouldn't take a culture of it since I had put neosporen on it. She said that would compromise the results. She kept saying it was MRSA and they might have to 'take part of' my finger. In hindsight, I am thinking it was some sort of an infection since MRSA does not respond very well to treatment.
It healed nicely, no scar but it is sort of tender in the spot.
Hope your young ones will be ok. Terrible thing to have to go through. Eczma is pretty bad. My friend's son had that as a baby and it was painful. She tried everything-diet, creams, lotions, medicines, nothing controlled it. He's 12 now and still has it but not as severe.
