I didn't even borrow Amy's Kevlar suit. We got there around 4pm. They started fixing dinner about half an hour later. My fil basically just ignores me. He's like he sees right through me in hubby's words. It was kinda interesting Matt paid particular interest to see what he did so he saw it clearly for himself tonight. It's odd how he does it. He does it in a way that it's not in your face. And usually in a group setting (my kids, dh & I and them) we all chat as a general not specifically to one person. So my fil will talk about our house not selling but only look at Matt and only talk to him. If I comment he just ignores the fact I said anything. Hard to explain. That said he treated the kids well and so did my mil. They went and got steamed shrimp cause we were coming which several of my kids love and it's a rarity around here. My fil actually turned off the football game and came to the table where the kids and Matt & I were eating. Not his usual style. Now we wait and see if they make any effort to continue communication.
So they gave us a check to get the kids a present from them and put it under our tree. On the way home I stopped at Superfresh as I had a $10 off any meat coupon that expired today. I went in and boneless skinless chicken breast was .99 a POUND!!!! Holy cow. The cheapest it ever goes around here is $1.79!! I got ten packs. Basically got like 2.5 free because of the meat coupon. What a score. I told Matt can we wrap it and put it under the tree frozen LOL

It is such a difficult situation to be in, hard to be present but treated like you are not there. sounds like overallit was bettert han usual. and at least the kids got some shrimp out of the deal

I'm glad it pretty much went OK...not the greatest...BUT atleast you did it. I'm sorry he treats you that way..I don't know the story.. but i'm sorry... it took ALOT to go thru..
