15 0|0|What do you get a 10 y/o Boy??|mfern4|mfern4@aol.com|13:54:31|11/27/2009|

My son doesn't really have a xmas list. The things he has mentioned we could not afford anyway (Remote Spy Truck & Video games). He's always been the hardest since he has an older brother and wants the "big" toys (most of which he can't have - electric scooter, paint ball guns, etc).

I'm having such a hard time this year and funds are very tight. It's weighing heavy on my mind that I can't think of anything. He's grown out of the lego, board game, pokemon, cards, matchbox, etc stages. I don't remember it being this hard for my oldest. He was still into GI Joes!

Yikes I need suggestions and don't say gift card because he's 10 and if doesn't have SOMETHING to open to play with on xmas he will be disappointed. I would be too as his age.

I need to go take a few advil, hope you all can help. I think the meeting of minds is a wonderful thing :o)

Thanks

They have a ton of games, he wants the new ones and they just run too much. He mentioned one but I really didn't listen because anything over $20 was out of the question. 3|3|Would he be upset if he got slightly used games? If not find a game stop near you my boys go there and sell their used games there |teener|teenerzacsneenee@yahoo.com|08:01:11|11/28/2009|

you can even find games that have been out only for weeks as some people sell them once they beat them if he wouldn't like that try amazon I got a great deal there on a new game my boys wanted

eta if you are not already a member of swagbucks I can refere you it's a search engine where you can earn amazon gc amoung others they came in handy for the game I bought 4|1|Does he have a favorite sports team? I ran into this when my boys got around this age, and got them some stuff for their favorite college teams (Penn State and Ohio State), tshirts, throws for their rooms, stuff like that....I had found great deals at stores like Kohls (online) for all kinds of things, plus had used a code for % off and free shipping. Also, for games, I always check out half.com first....I've been able to find recent games for less than half price there sometimes! :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|08:12:16|11/28/2009|

I don't have boys but when my nephews were in that age group I remember buying things like flashlights (maybe those shake kind) because they liked them and nobody else thought of it for them. That is a tough age especially when toys are not really "it" for them (other than the spendy ones).

Some other ideas would be a "coupon" book for activities he can do with you when he wants to (make cookies, see a movie, go for a walk, ice skate, etc).
Actually maybe a movie pass or two would be a great gift for him? You could probably trade for some on here even.

I'll keep my thinking cap on and will post anything else I think of. Hope the advil kicked in. I can relate! Vanessa 10|1|What about Bakugan? They were on sale at Target for the last week or so. If you do e-rewards, they have a Blockbuster 3 free rental option at the $25 level (1 game/mo for 3 months) or maybe a gift card?

How about a movie box? Walmart.com has a nice selection of holiday packaged dvds for less than $10, & some new movie pre-orders for less than $10 with free shipping. You can fill a box with a movie or two, candy and popcorn (bought with coupons, of course), or dollar store snacks, free coke coupons from mycokerewards. (My boys still look forward to getting dvds and snacks on Christmas, and they are young adults.)

Do you have any mypoints to cash in? You can get a Burger King gc for about 1500 pts. (This has always been a favorite.)
